Did you ever had a PC part die on you?

Anytime i read newegg reviews most of them are "DOA", "Lasted 6 days" etc...
So did anything like this happened to you because it never happened to me.
Only thing that ever dyed on me way my old PSU

motherboards ram hard drives dvd drives GPUs

YES, a  AMD CPU! never bought one since, Have had a great time with Intel.

the problem with user reviews is that people are far, far more likely to review the product if they've had a bad experience than if they had a good experience.

My first motherboard had a lousy NIC and it gave up after about half a year.

 

It was a cheapo MSI board, so I had a feeling it would happen.

DOA's are just a part of buying electronics.  I hate reviews for 1 star if the product is doa.  If you get a replacement and the process is not terrible then DOA shouldn't be a black mark on the product.

and for the second part

I have had computers and computer parts fail over time but nothing out of the ordinary for this kind of thing.

Never anything outright die on me, but I've had a faulty PSU cause windows to keep looping boot, and a GPU giving faulty colors (win7 load screen be green and all images are faded) and a MOBO with a faulty PCI-E slot causing my GPU to have shader problems in certain games (SC2 gas mine would be a single color of bright yellow). All on different builds of course.

Oh. Yes,

 

Its just part of the lifestyle of having computers. That's what exchanges are for.

 

My new mech. portable HD just failed on me with 3 years of data on it, expensive lesson to learn.

OEM hdd died after a few years, OEM psu died, And i have a shitty chinese brand PSU in my oil pc the -12v rail is -16.6 however -12v is rarely used to its fine atm.

However it was all related to really shitty power in a ghetto apartment unit.

yeah but my aging QX6700 that i used for around 4+ years couldnt stay stable at OC clocks anymore not even and 2.9

had to bring it down to 2.66 stock clocks

I had an HIS Radeon HD 7770 1GB as a secondary GPU for a while, and one day, it threw flames. I think a MOSFET exploded. No OC, no modifications, nothing. Just *poof*.

Really nothing died on me.. Not even an HDD. That said, I only have had 2 full PC's in my life

I wouldn't worry about it, it was a particularly crap card anyways.

did you run the chip at high temperatures or high voltages throughout it's lifetime?

nope big ass thermalright 120 cooler on it since 2007

never went above 70c
