Best ~$3000 usd Gaming/Video Editing PC

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Hello again LTT community members. :D  I am planning on pinching my pennies for a few months in order to put together one BEAST PC. I have already made a thread about what i first thought to put into it (link below) but would like other peoples opinions. What recommendations would you make. Also i Need it to game at high settings on 2 or 3 1440p monitors, as well as edit videos and do some light CAD work. So please leave your recommendations about the PC and, if you want, the Monitors too. You can go over a bit if you want, but not more than like 300-500 dollars. PC WILL NOT BE BUILT RIGHT AWAY. I will probably get one or two of the new gpus when they come out like the 980 or 390x. Once i get all the parts i will do a build log. I don't really have any brand preferences except i like WD Black hard drives.

Bullsh$t.

You're not doing X99 DDR4 2/3 1440 mons on high at 500 and you know it.

Edit: 3 Grand... Fuck I'm old, sorry mate.

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

I would look into a r9 295x2 for the GPU because you get a good scaling since it is only 2 way crossfire and you would get quite good temps due the inbuilt aio cooler as well as having 4gb vram for each gpu core which Linus showed in his recent 3 1440p monitor build that that was enough for that size of resolution.

-snip-

First off get a cpu cooler. That processor doesn't come with one. Secondly go for a R9 295x2 since you are crossfiring not only for the temps but you will get better performance as well.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

High performance RAM is brilliant to say you have but would it not be save some money to go for some 2800MHz kit and if you are trying to do a lot of video editing try and increase the amount of RAM in your pc. Hardware Canucks recently did a very good video on the effect of doubling the amount of RAM in a pc and showing the effect in editing (difference between 16gb, 32gb and 64gb)

Although the 760t may a beautiful case you may want to look into a different case for a one with better build quality.

760t is just a placeholder for the 780t as it is not relased yet

G2A.com gives you a valid key..theyre not going to ship you discs, ive gotten several games from G2A.com.. just download a iso burn to disc and then use your key you bought to activate...

Romerl1998 sorry I didn't know that was his intention. 780t is our where I live I thought he might have just preferred the 760t for some reason.

as far as i know it is not out in the states. i have a 760t right now and love it, although it doesn't have as much watercooling support.

Can you not get a slim 360 in push/pull plus whatever size of 240/280 in the front. The problem I can imagine is pump and Res mounting.

in my system right now i am running a swiftech h320 in pull. but when i upgrade i will be going 2 360mm rads in the custom loop

For the Case I would suggsest you the Phanteks Enthoo Primo. Because you want a custom watercooling loob. It looks awesome, has alot of stuff specially made for watercooling and you have space without ending almost.

Hope it helps you.
