G3258, QuickSync, OBS = QSVHelper.exe killed?

So I've been trying to use the QuickSync Feature, enabled the iGPU in the bios, and set up everything correctly pretty much.

But whenever I try to stream, or even record locally, OBS gives me "QSVHelper.exe was killed, encode failed", then it stops working.

Is it because G3258 is incapable of handling the workload? but QuickSync is supposed to handle that isn't it? but for some reason, I get that error and I can't use OBS.

Does anyone know about this?

I've overclocked my CPU to 4.5Ghz, if that matters at all.

Overclocked or not makes no difference. But the idea can be done. I'm using my 4690+theiGPU to run BF4 while using the same CPU for Quicksync recording.

The fact that you said "pretty much' leads me to believe even you don't think it could be setup right.

There are MANY MANY MANY guides for Quicksync, read a few of them, maybe one glosses over something that another guide doesnt.. maybe you DID miss something you didn't think you did.

Revisit the guides and apply changes and try again.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
