What's your job?

Owen

I'm 15 and have been feeling broke lately, so just wondering what you guys do to earn some cash? This is more directed towards teens so I can get some ideas for myself but feel free to post regardless your age ;)

- I babysit and fix my neighbors computers, easy but not good enough :P

Edit: Wow, we got some interesting people on this forum!

Me: Yeah I just really can't get my H220 working again, I've tried everything that was suggested in the forum.

Brian (Swiftech Support): Hmm, have you tried slapping it?

Mow grass, I work with my dad in construction sometimes, I do a little computer repair for friends and family. Just whatever. Literally.

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

Paper routes or lawn mowing is always a good option, especially during the summer.

Fast food places too.

(I don't qualify as a teen anymore since getting a degree in Mechanical engineering and working on Masters degree with summer internships; Engineers make quite a good chunk starting out)

According to your specs, you aren't that broke...

That's the result of me saving up for over 2 years, and after spending all my money on that I'm back to $0 :P

Technically, I'm jobless but I spend most of my time on this forum helping people.

I'm a student in Austria (studying somethink called "Telematik", which is a mixture between computer science and electronics), so there is not much time to earn some money besides studying.

So I do summer jobs every summer, working in a chemical factory, about 10 km away, brings me nearly 2000 € a month.

So many Engineering students :) *High five* I'm studying Mechanical engineering in University.

So currently I don't have a job but I use my money very carefully so I still have a decent sum of money collected, plus we get a monthly stipend + 700 EUR each year for education purposes (1400EUR the first year).

I'm 22, about to graduate from university (Forensic Science)

About to be jobless, though on the hunt, but when I was your age a few of the jobs I took where:

- Lifeguarding (perfect summer job, paid pathetic wage but got free gym

- Cleaner (at my school, 2 hours a day before/after school, perfect for pocket money)

- Greenkeeping (summer job when I was back from uni)

Asks your parents/family friends, I got all of the above jobs primarily from knowing someone to get my name in the door!

Having just finished university, with the amazing power of hindsight I would've loved to have done an engineering degree. Almost guaranteed to walk into a decent job with sweet career prospects...

Freelance web developer, the less depressing way of saying unemployed

I've actually tried getting into that, but even though I know Java very well my age is always the deal breaker :(

99designs is a good starting point (for template design mostly, may include full web-design/development). Freelancer.com is another.
