Learning for a programming exam

Ssoele

This is a story about how I prepare myself for a programming exam in collage, there is no guaranty that you can pass an exam without going to the courses or studying your ass off.

So, I had an exam of C# last Monday. Of course I never went to the classes because I had better things to do... I have experience with programming in JAVA (and some other languages like PHP, JavaScript and ActionScript).

So the Sunday before my exam I was going to prepare myself by making some exercises that I got from a fellow classmate. But you know how it goes, it was already 4 PM and I still hadn't started on doing anything.

I was Skyping with a friend and told him about it, he said that I should try watching some Lynda.com videos. So I went looking for some of those videos, after about 5 minutes I found the C# programming course on {insert favourite torrent site here} and downloaded it (Don't do this, it's illegal).

I spend the rest of the evening / night watching those videos and went to bed soon after.

I went to the exam the next morning and made my exam, to my surprise I was able to do everything that was asked on the exam.

So, I will most likely pass my exam with fairly good grades (I will post them once I get them), not bad for learning a new programming language in a few hours.

If you guys have similar stories or just good stories about programming, post them here under.

Interesting, I'm going to check that out this weekend.

No similar stories though since I didn't do any programming courses in university, just a hobby interest for me.

Here's a link my high school AP programming teacher sent me. It's been extremely helpful in learning new material and reviewing for exams.

May the Force be with you.

In the U.S.A. it is not illegal to download a torrent unless it it sever such as (sick child porn) . It only becomes illegal if you seed the torrent to other clients or host.. The U.S.A is the most strict country about torrenting

There are so many free websites with tutorials on learning pretty much any language that there is no excuse in not learning one or more than one. If you can't find one you are not trying very hard to search for it.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

I have always found The New Boston to be a great resource when learning a new language.

For anyone that doesn't know, http://stackoverflow.com/ is an amazing resource for answering specific programming questions. It's pretty much the sole reason I was able to pass my Operating Systems class with good marks.
