Two way gtx660 FTW SLI? or gtx780?

OneManArmy

Hello to anyone who is reading this post, at the moment I have one gtx660 ftw, and was just wondering if i should get a second 660 and do sli, or spend the extra money and get a gtx780. I already have a motherboard and Power-supply that can handle X2 660's or one 780. I also would like to know if there are any other card(s) that you would suggest around the same price range. THANKS!

Hey it really depends..... Do you want to get a 290 and then add another later, or are you fine with being locked at two 660's?

780 perform quite similarly to 2 660 in sli,I recommend to buy a single 780 becuz of the lower power consumption

A single powerful card requires less power, less effort to set up and produces less heat and noise. There are many games out there that are not optimised correctly for crossfire/sli configurations and you may just end up switching one of your cards off just to get them to work.

In my experience the best bet is to go for the single powerful card and to upgrade to a dual powerful cards in the future. GTX 780ti would be loads better if you can stretch to it and it almost brings you the power of 1 1/2 times a gtx 780 but if you can wait nVidia will hopefully be releasing their 800 series soon and you won't be kicking yourself for missing them for a month.

Just go with 4 titans ....

JK 780 is probably your best bet. 780 ti if you can afford it.

If you want to push it that far I'd go for the quad 780ti over the titans I recon you'd get better performance :-)

Too late to suggest a 780 sli configuration?

I have a feeling that very soon there will be a good number of slightly used 780's on ebay for good deals... just saying.

Go for the 780 for less heat and power consumption, but if you don't have that kind of money do two 660's

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.
