Resident Evil: Revelations

I have seen the trailer for the upcoming sequel, but I wanted to know what this community thinks of the first game. I have not played it myself, nor have I had much interest until this sequel was announced. I have recently begun being much more frugal about my spending, so it would be great to get a few opinions on this before I fork over the cash.

I just wish that the series could die and we could still have some good untainted memories of it. And that Capcom could move onto new property's as aposed to re-inventing and re-capturing this old franchise.

LTT's Resident Black Star

I should get an award for still being here at this point

I played the first game on the 3ds and i actually liked it a lot. A lot less scary than most re games though but a lot of drama and suprises in the story which made it great.

First revelation was okay once it got to PC.

But it became apparent that white-ish sea-"zombies" looked like crap and are rarely scary.

At least it played a little more like 4 which was the best third-per-shooter type Biohazard game.

Need real zombies; hopefully Revelation 2 will deliver.

I'm not insulting anyone; I'm just being condescending. There is a difference, you see...

I can olny speak for the 3DS, the WiiU and PC (Steam), but there are Demos available on all 3 systems.

I grew up playing 1, 2, 3, CV and 0 on the original PlayStation, the Dreamcast and the Gamecube. To me, Revelations is not as good, but still heaps better than 4, 5 and 6.

Personally, I will get Revelations for the 3DS and the WiiU at some point, even though I am well a aware that the PC version was on sale, last weekend.

Too late, imo. RE4 already happened. Bought it the week it was released for the Gamecube and sold it within a few days. Then bought another copy for the Cube and tried 4 or 5 times to get into it, but RE4 simply isn't a true to the roots Resident Evil game.

Tried RE5 on a friend's PS3, but quickly realized that it was utter garbage.

Didn't even manage to sit through 30 minutes of a let's play of RE6.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.
