how much did you spend on this stuff? I dont spend a lot an i am still pretty satisfied with my TV set up. I have an LG tv, an xbox 360, a 3D blu-ray player, a ps3, and soon i will have Apple TV and i will soon sell the ps3. What kind of stuff do you guys have? comment or "quote"

These are given, meaning I do not have to buy it because these are old, my father bought it:

Sony TV, 738p

5.1 speaker set (right now we are only using 3.1)

Old AV receiver (no HDMI inputs)

PS3 which I no longer use, bluray drive died but DL games are working.

Since last year, HT is my project:

HTPC, look at my sig for specs, let's say $200 but there is no way it cost that much, I am from another region so price is quite different

NAS with 2x3TB, around $530

This April I will buy a new receiver which costs around $200-$250.

So all in all, I will spend $450 on HT relevant things alone, add another $530 if you want to include the NAS price but it serves more purpose than just making the HT working.

Pardon my English. Not my native language.

Here is my humble apartment setup.  No receiver so I have the Logitech z5500s going through the TV's optical out connection.  Using my HTC One as my remote for everything, and HTPC is an ancient core2duo with 2gig of ram running XBMC.  Next upgrades will be replacing the cable gateway with a separate modem and Asus wireless AC router, then eventually build an amazing htpc that can run games directly (thinking a win7 build with steam big picture and xbmc installed, depending on the media features of steamos I may go that way)

e1nq.jpg

SteamOS is Debian based so I don't see why it wouldn't run XBMC perfectly fine :D

Also, great setup :P Seems most of the old C2D's are now finding new life as HTPCs and Steam streaming boxes. That's what my C2D is doing as well. Quite similar setup but with Z623s

I never knew this post existed until now :P

This is my gaming setup, which is about as large as a home theatre, so I guess it qualifies here too?

Sony 5.1 HT receiver

14.2 surround speakers

55in Samsung LED HDTV as my main monitor

$4-5k gaming PC? what's in it, it looks like one GPU?

yeah well my monitor cost $1.5k

sound system was about $1

my computer started at $1k

with about $2k in upgrades so far

its an enthusiast PC, not a gaming PC, which is why my case costs more than my GPU
