cm storm quickfire tk

BendyStraws

Ive been looking forever for a cherry blue keyboard with blue backlights for awhile now. I knew there was the ducky shine 2, the razer one, or the cm keyboard. I couldnt find a full size ducky that was under 200, and ive only had bad experience with razer keyboards. So I turned to the cm tk. I know they slimmed it down by putting the directional arrows in the numpad, but overall I think this is the keyboard for me. Review after review ive seen nothing but positive feedback. Is this thing worth it? Should I just keep searching for a ducky? What other full size board is there with blue switches and leds?

Where are you from?

Here where I am I found only one store to buy a ducky keyboard, but since the TK is only half the price I bought it earlier(with mx browns)

If you can't find a ducky, the TK is probaly a very solid choice ;)

Proud owner of a CM Storm Quick Fire TK Cherry Blue, and you can go ahead and get it with confidence. I'm not using it now, but while I was using it, I can honestly say the build quality is pretty good, the lighting is excellent, quite even and you'd have no trouble gaming at night. The switch feels a tad rougher than those on my Ducky, but gaming and typing with it was pretty good. Though I'm basically a Red/Black switch FPS gamer, I found the Blues took a little getting use to but now, I guess I game with Blue just about as well as with Red/Black.

What do you mean by "rougher"? Ive seen nothing but great reviews about the keyboard. Ive never actually used a mechanical keyboard before so I have no idea what to expect. Ive been using my g19 for ever.i love the little monitor, and for that reason alone I havent changed. My best friend has a ducky shine2 and when we play lol on skype I can hear the beautiful sound of the blue switches. Just from that I was sold.

No, don't get me wrong, I didn't mean that it was bad, not in the least. It just felt a lttile different from teh DS II Blue, a little rougher, or more 'scratchy' for want of a better word. I suppose it has to do with the way the KB's are made, the material use and perhaps how the switches are mounted (just guessing here), but they do feel different. I have the QF TK Blue as well, and I like it a lot, and it being (to me anyway) a little more 'scratchy' than the DS II doesn't mean it's bad......just that it feels different, that's all. The QF TK is a great TKL KB, and CM make pretty damn good mech KBs for sure.

Just saw this and it makes me sad. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

Dude, it's OK, the QF TK is an excellent KB......only thing against it is that that Ducky Zero is a full sized KB. But honestly, you'll be surprised by the QF TK, I was and I'm glad I'd gotten it. If I'd any doubt about CM quality, I'd not be seriously considering a Storm Trigger Cherry Green.....will prolly get it soon.

QF TK is an awesome choice. Though I'm kinda bias coz it's one of the keyboards that I have but with it, you won't feel the need of having a full keyboard.

Also, the backlight is amazing coz of the blue plates.

I'm hoping CM will have a TK with USB and Audio "pass-through".

I have a QF TK with Cherry MX browns. Although it is my first mechanical keyboard, I can say it is absolutely perfect for everything. Typing feels great, gaming feels good, LEDs are fantasic, brilliant build quality, affordable. You will not be disappointed in the slightest. I bought it off of the good reviews too and I can see why the reviews are so good.

Just recieved my TK with brown switches, the build quality is basicly the same as the ducky shine 2 I had before and the backlighting is VERY bright at its brightest level, it just looks fantastic, I highly reccomend it :)

Finally.  Seemed like that took forever!  How do you find the stabilizers on the spacebar?  Mine are very clacky.  The source of the clack can't be remedied with O-rings either.  Aside from that, love the board.

I find my spacebar clacky too but everything about this keyboard is so good, I cannot worry about the spacebar being a little clacky.

Yeah mine too, but I don't mind that, it is nice to have a different audible feedback for the spacebar actually imo, but I would like a heavier switch under the spacebar like a clear one or just a bron one with a black spring, but I won't open it up soon because of that, unless there is an easy way to take off the top of the switch. Very happy with mine so far.

It is not perfect, but it is is what I wanted: shorter than normal, but still with a numberpad.

EDIT: If you turn the spacebar upside down so that the line on the keycap is closer to you I found that is is a little less clacky if that helps you. To remove the spacebar first remove the ALT keys and then lift the spacebar up with 1 finger on each side ;)

If in the US or Canada you'll have to wait a few weeks.  The CM Store was supposed to be getting them in soon after the limited editions sold out.  It "appears" you can still get the limited edition.. http://www.cmstore-usa.com/quickfire-tk-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-white-body/

I ordered my keyboard from amazon and it showed up in a newegg box. Lol. But yeah, I got the keyboard last night and I can say I do enjoy the typing a ton! It feels extremely elevated. My last keyboard had a broken spacebar so im not sure if im just used to that, or if this spacebar is a bit high. Either way I love this thing. The lights are auper bright and the breathing mode is awesome! My girlfriend hates how loud they are. We both game in the same room and I can hear my clicking thru her mic when we play.
