LTT 3DMark Thread

Unfortunately 3D Mark doesn't like AMD CPUs at all :) I don't think going from 4.8 to 5.0 will make any noticeable difference on the score :/

 

Yeah with the 200MHz you're not getting much more I think. But a 4670K @ 4.8GHz is already really a good score :) ! But see you have a single R9 280X and have almost the score of 2chriswy.

 

I know a lot of people don't want to hear this, but this outdated architecture that the FX CPU uses is the reason why you guys don't see more performance, though it's just a synthetic benchmark after all.

 

But AMD CPUs create bottlenecks in certain scenarios for highend GPUs these days. I build PCs for people and as of right now I rather use something like an Intel i5 4430 as very basic CPU rather than a FX processor.

Though I hope AMD will make a good comeback in 2016 with a new architecture to give Intel at least in the consumer grade CPU some competition.

the 670 has stock speed 3570k((3.4)turbo boost is only 3.8) and mine is at 4.1

even the ram is slower on the 670 build

I think it came down to drivers the driver he was on when he used he ran his FS run on September 22

Revert to 334.xx drivers for overclocking. I used 344.11 when I submited my SLI scores
