First high-end GPU for me.  I feel like I could get more if I upped the power curve a bit.  I am thoroughly pleased with the performance of the card.

Overall score is lower than my 3570K and GTX 980 xD (Unless it's FireStrike Extreme then you've crushed it...)

Post your 3DMark Link so people can view the CPU and GPU score. That's what matters really imo.

After a little tweaking, managed to get in the upper 12 thousands but fire strike keeps saying that my GPU driver is "not supported" or something.

I'm sure it's by design but I must say 3dmark does not make it easy to reliably scrape scores from their site...

It is very easy to do so, if you know how.

I believe he means, that as a user for a human it's easy so watch your own scores, I don't think it has anything to do with API

umm... can't you just HTTP request the link from the thread and then just parse trough the HTML,

all the needed stuff seems to be easily found:

Yeah I have been doing that but the results are not consistent from what I've noticed. Right now I have it parsing this thread for links then takes those links and parses 3dmark for results. Most of the time I can get the scores but sometimes they add another element and I get back the wrong result for a certain score. Haven't really messed with it too much to figure out why yet.

That's definitely a better score! Still I think you should try backing off a bit and seeing if that helps even more (it is a common phenomona on AMD cards that the highest overclock achievable is NOT the best performing in games/firestrike, it is less common on Nvidia but not unheard of).

40.2 still seems really low for the crazy clocks you have managed to get. I assume that is bios-modded (given the power target limitations, although IDR what they are for the Hybrid's bios)?

Believe it or not, the huge deficit had nothing to do with GPU/memory speed.  I was being an idiot.  For some reason I assumed that FireStrike was automatically adjusting resolution correctly before the runs, but it wasn't.  I didn't think about any of this until you showed me the math yesterday.  You inadvertently made this happen, so I appreciate it in a weird way.  Who says tension isn't good?  :D

I'll continue working on it and get them where they should be.  The BIOS are modded increasing voltages and removing thermal limits, but I really think I do better with stock voltages and just letting the cards do their thing.

What do you mean automatically adjusting resolution? As in you saw an improvement manually setting your monitor to 1080p?

GM200 isn't a huge fan of increased voltage, and definitely isn't a fan of increased temperatures (which is an inevitable side affect of increased voltage) so I'm not surprised to hear you say that.

I'm running a power-target mod right now. I tried a voltage mod but it didn't help on my first card so I didn't even bother keeping it or messing with even more.

Also wrt our discussion, bios-modding is cheating and something I wouldn't expect anyone to do (even if I personally do it and would recommend everyone to "consider it".) haha.

I guess you could say that I manually adjusted in the way of swapping my 4k and 1080p monitors.

I agree with regards to voltages/temps.  I'm going back to stock and keeping it there .  The cards stay closer to 35c/36c at load with the stock BIOS, but occasionally get close to 40c with the BIOS mod.  Not that I think temps are an issue at all, but with the amount of cooling I'm running, I can't help but wonder how much extra heat is being moved with a small 3c to 4c increase due to the voltage mod.  Like you were saying, it must be adversely affecting performance.

You're absolutely right about BIOS modding falling in line with cheating.  I guess cheating is rapidly becoming the new standard.  One of life's lessons as it hasn't helped me in this case.

GM200 really loves staying cold to reduce electron leakage, so again every little bit can help when you are pushing the limits.

Give 720p a shot and let me know.  I'm killing it in the physics area, but I need to work on that graphics score!  I'm going to cool them down as much as possible.

See my issue is I probably can't get cold enough anymore... I don't have AC, and in the winter I was running my room at -10C with a box fan blowing in the fresh air... Now its 21C.

I don't know if I even want to run with a 31C higher ambient...

Also resetting my fan curves is a total bitch... AI SUITE's hysteresis never wants to stick even when you save the fan profiles...

I'll try it over the weekend maybe and let you know.

One card at those clocks wouldn't return that score.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example.
