Dont have time to write an essay because of school... if i dont qualify, then good luck to those who enters and qualifies. :)

Topic One: I would want this drive for my computer because my hard drive past few months is making weird ticking sounds but when I scanned it with hdtune, there was nothing damaged. So right now I think I need a backup drive/new os drive for my computer in order to back everything up and eventually move onto the 1tb hd because I am running out of space on my 320gb sata 1 hd by seagate.

I would use this drive for my first brand new build that Is in progress and doesn't have a hard drive as of now I was going to order one two days from now and if I got this I could buy a new case since mine has no cable manmanagement

I got in the world of tech because minecraft really I tried it since it was so popular and my old dell only ran it at 1 to 2 fps so I got a 7 year old pc that I loved from my uncle a long time PC

builder

my first build (in progress) is a AMD FX 6300 ASUS mobo 8 gigs of Kingston ram OCZ 750w psu it wasn't my first pc I built just MY first build for ME

Pick only 1 of the topics, and elaborate a bit more! there are some people who have literally written a page worth of a story!

The story of my first build is kinda funny, but it was my first serious build that was all mine. I ordered the parts off of Newegg(as the warehouse is literally less than 5 miles from my house) and when they all arrived at my doorstep, it felt like Christmas morning seeing a huge amount of presents under the Christmas tree. I brought all of the packages in and immediately opened them all up to make sure all my parts arrived, after checking if everything is in order I opened up the boxes and jumped right into it. After putting in the CPU and putting the motherboard into the case, I started the cable management. I stayed up until 3am fixing the cabling and making sure everything was in order. I ended up going to bed and not even trying to see if it worked as I had school the next day and all during school I was stressing out that it won't work or something went wrong so right when I came home, I immediately fired it up and to a relief, it posted and it's been running fine ever since.

Now after about a year I have upgraded to a better GPU, bought a CPU cooler(CM Hyper 212+), and have changed to a better case for airflow and cable management it still works wonders and could not be happier. I love my rig and hope it lasts for at least the next 2-3 generations of AMD/Intel.

Thanks for the giveaway, best of luck to all! :)

I chose Topic 2- What got you into the world of tech?

Back in 2001 my Parents got a divorce and had a computer that nether one of them wanted so I took it home and it stayed in my closet for 3 months. I came home from work one day bored and decided I wanted to play solitaire so I pulled it out and stared at the back of the pc tell my GF at the time got home and told her I didn't have any Idea how to plug it in LOL so she showed me. I started liking it so I asked her uncle if he would teach me how PC's worked. He owns his own Computer company in Kansas city, Kansas. He taught me the basics around windows and how to run DOS about six months later I went back to him and showed him what I had learned my self. He looked at me in surprise and I said what. He told me I just crammed 5 years of knowledge in 6 months. I said really. He told me I should go to school for it. So I went home and bought every book I could get my hands on that was about computers, I studied for one year before I went to collage. In collage my teacher told me I was really advanced and taught me more stuff then the class knew, I went to school every day and hung out with my teacher all day,.I did the hole schools networking with him, Helped him build firewalls for the school and helped him fix any PC's at the school. about a year into school they replaced all the computers at my school and I asked my teacher what they do to the old ones. He said throw them away so I asked him if I could have them all he said yes I had over 230 PC's and 15 servers. I was the fastest person to ever graduate from my school I did 8 years of school in 4 and a half years and the only one to get a 4.0 average all 4 and half years I was there. I got my associates degree in Computer programing, a Masters degree in computer Networking and a Masters Degree in Computer science.

Karma is a good thing and never hurts. I believe strongly in karma.

Just like paying it forward.

Thank you for this nice giveaway.

I wish everybody the best of luck on winning

For the longest time I rented a big storage unit because my GF at the time wouldn't let me keep all of them at the house. I started up my own PC repair shop from home when I was going to school. I used a lot of the computers for parts for customers that really didn't have a lot of money but needed hardware to keep there PC's up and running, I donated most of it free of cost.

The servers I kept for a long time but when I moved here to Florida I couldn't really take all of them with me so donated them to the local schools that really needed them.

The last time I looked at a clock was 22 September, 2009.

An evil darkness had set across the lands, something not even cyclone force winds could shift. Plants wilted in the dark beneath a sky turned black and red with dust. Electricity had long been shut off, and water evaporated faster than it fell. People had turned savage in the hunt for food, but the only food left tasted only of dust and ash. I thought the world had just ended. It must have been years since the last car left town, and aside from the wild men, it was just me. Three years, I had been walking, trying to find an edge to this dust storm, but to no avail. I had spent the last couple of nights in a three story home overlooking what was probably a dried up river bank. I imagined a house like this would be paradise, if it weren’t for the world around me. It must have been another three or four months I spent in that dark home. One night, I was awoken by a ray of sunlight. The harsh rays seared my skin for a brief moment, before the darkness consumed them once again. This was the sign I needed.

I searched the house for building supplies and found some planks of wood and ladders and well as some bricks on the rear porch. I constructed a tower from the roof. It waved and careered in the mystery darkness above me, but it was sturdy enough. With parts from the family computer stashed in my backpack, and a car battery slung over my shoulder with a camera strap, I started climbing the tower. Slowly, the dust thinned, the top of the tower burst though the dust. The sun was setting to right, casting brilliant fiery rays over the red sea below me. On top of the tower I could see to the horizon in all directions. Few buildings broke the dust clouds beneath me, though as far as I looked, I couldn’t see an end to the suffocating cloud. Using the family pc parts in my backpack, I built a computer for the first time. Everything more or less fitted like Lego, and I surprised myself when it booted. After about 20 minutes the Windows Vista desktop beamed in front of me. Using the 0.0003 megapixel web cam, I started taking photos of the surroundings and storing them on my MSN account. The hard drive filled up very quickly, only a couple of images more and I would have a full 360 rotation that I could use to find my way to other tall buildings, and hopefully find my way out. I have attached this message to a makeshift hot air balloon, hoping it might find society one day, if it still exists. I need another hard drive so I may navigate this evil darkness. The dust storm has not ended. The sky is still black. Men have turned evil, but I am still here. I am still alive, and I need a hard drive.

Most of the computers my teacher gave me had the AMD Athlon 64 in them. ranging from 2.2ghz to 2.6ghz. I had quite a few of the AMD Athlon 64 4000+. I also had a hand full of the Athlon 64 x2's 5200+. I think they all were custom pc's if I remember right the did not have a name on the PC case its self and all the computers were black with 2 chrome strips that went on both sides of the front of the case. I remember all the boards were ASUS boards but don't remember the modal number of the board. Everyone of the computers came with a 80gb western digital caviar blue drive in them and a Samsung DVD writer. They all had 1gb of DDR 400 made by Kingston
