What CPU should I go for next?

Go to solution Solved by Leaf-Senpai,

I'm closing this as my friend just said he will give me his Phenom II X6 1035, and i can get a mobo for $80, so thanks for the help :D

I plan to upgrade my CPU, my specs are:

-CPU: Celeron G1620 dual core 2.7Ghz

-Video: Radeon R9 270X PowerColor PCS+ Edition

-Motherboard: ASRock B75M R2.0

-Case: Some super old case with USB 1.0 headers

-Power Supply: Aerocool VP-550

-RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600 (1333 because cpu limit)

I was going to upgrade to the I5-3330 for $220and was wondering if that was my best choice. My budget is no more then $250...

EDIT: I'm Australian - can't use NewEgg and such - so like no deals ideas please ^^

I would recommend to save up more to upgrade your cpu, mobo, and case instead of buying a i5 3330. Gpu is okay but your cpu is holding you back.

Some options for upgrading is a i5 4690k and a z97 board or a g3258 and oc the cpu and a z97 board and upgrade to a i5 4690k later.

Actually if you can get a i3-4150 and a motherboard for $250. You should do well.

I'll look for newegg deals.

Im going to have to agree with BubbleWhale... A "i5 4690k and a z97 board" would probably be your best option.

If you cant muster the $400ish :: a AMD FX-8320 and ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+  is 240$

well the op can just buy a g3258 and a z97 board for now and save up more money later to buy a 4690k or just save up more and buy a i5 4690k and a z97 board at the same time

If the OP plans to upgrade within the next year, this makes sense ~ otherwise I would still favor AMD FX-8320 over the g3258

I assume you are using itestate..... Sigh

Can you use amazon? Shipping to Australia seems to only be 9$~ as posted by their website

If you pick up a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, you probably can pop a pretty good OC on that chip :)
