Mozilla and Foxconn are holding an event on June 4 (Firefox OS)

Anyone remember Mozilla's mobile OS, Firefox OS which first made it's appearance as Boot 2 Gecko which could be flashed on Samsung Galaxy S II and later released on two Geeksphone smartphones which weren't exactly popular.

Mozilla has apparently managed to strike a deal with Foxconn, as both companies will be holding a press event on June 4 in Taipei. Not much else is known besides this, other than Foxconn hinting that one or more "latest" smartphones, running Firefox OS would be on display.

In the meantime Sony are also working on their own Firefox OS device which is planned to be released next year along with several other manufacturers (ZTE, Huawei, Alcatel, etc.)

With so many manufacturers interested, do you think this OS stands a chance against the already saturated smartphone OS markets, when compared to other fledgeling OSes such as Windows Phone, BB 10 and soon even Ubuntu phone?
