Is AMD Dual Graphics worth it?

nop 270X will overclock more and beat that with a long margin

Hi

I will be building a budget gaming rig with the AMD A10-7850K APU and I'm wondering, if I want to upgrade it later, should I buy an R7 250 and use dual graphics or buy an R9 270X and not use the iGPU? This PC is mostly just for TF2, but I sometimes might play a little Far Cry 3 or Battlefield 4. Thanks.

FX6300 (if too much, 4300) and a R9 270(X).

I'll be using the 7850K anyway, because I will only buy a separate card if I want it.

Anyway, thanks guys. If I want a separate graphics card for that PC, I will get the 270X.

FX6300, but if it costs too much, which it doesn't, it costs $50 less. (I thought the APU would cost more.) So your argument is invalid. The 6300 is much better when OP gets a R9 270X.

Think of it this way. With an APU, he doesn't have to buy a video card. Which is why he's getting it. The question was in regards to future upgrades. So, it's actually a perfectly valid argument.

Your suggestion, is in fact, pointless. He's also already stated he's getting the APU regardless.

Your argument was that the 7850 was more powerful than the 4300.

I corrected myself as the FX6300 is much cheaper than the APU. I wasn't even against the fact that he needed the iGPU, I thought he was planning a new build for the APU or a dedicated CPU + GPU.

Get the athlon 750K or 760K instead along with a radeon R7 265 or R9 270, that should cost about the same as the A10 APU and will outperform it pretty bad...the 760K is the same on the CPU side of things as the 7850K and even an r7 260X is vastly superior.

APU are pointless IMO.

Look, same price...one completely outperform the other:

Nope, 750K + R7 260X is 3 euros in more expensive than the 7850K in my local store. Also, A88X or nothing.

In this thread I asked a simple question: an R7 250 + iGPU or R9 270X. Not your opinion on APUs. Also, the power consumption in the end is higher with a CPU + GPU than an APU.

They're really not all that much worse than AMD iGPUs, especially when you consider the Intel cpus are more powerful than AMD APUs on the cpu side.

yes smartass but AS I MENTIONNED the 750K + R7 260X is WELL WORTH the 3 more euros as it will play your favorite games at a MUCH MORE enjoyable FRAMERATE!

RIGHT THERE is the extra performance you get for 3 little more euros (price of a big mac)

Look, I'm on a budget of 600 euros for that PC, I'm really close to it with the APU. Going with the CPU + GPU would literally blow my budget.

I wasn't asking for build advice either. You haven't even seen the part list.
