3D on Benq XL 2420T

FreddyBeacher

I would like to clear up some confusion I have with regards to the 3D aspect of this monitor.

Does this monitor monitor have a built-in emitter? If not, what is the purpose of the green LED light in the bottom right hand corner on the monitor for? I did not see any visible emitter in the unboxing video Linus did on this monitor back in December, 2011 when he showed the 3D display working. I realize that an actual emitter could be anywheres up to 15 feet away.

I would think it would be obvious that once your screen was set for 3D display, you would easily see this in effect. Is the green LED just a visual confirmation that the display has successful linked with your 3D glasses perhaps?

I bought this monitor on the assumption that it had an emitter incorporated into it and then just brought the Nvidia 3D glasses alone thinking the combination would work together. I know the Benq XL 2420TX does have the emiiter as well.

Thanks for your clarifications.
