So guys, what DPI settings do you use?

1200 @ 5760x1080 and 4k on the laptop, I like moving my mouse far, then down to 200 for specific things.

I actually use the 8200 dpi (on 1:1 windows setting) on 2 1080p monitors.  I use less for gaming though.

1000 dpi, and recently reduced my sensitivity in CSGO from 6 to 4. Would like to go lower, most pros use really low sensitivity and I can see why. Always been used to high sens though... and 1000 is apparently considered really high to play at high levels.

3200+ RTS, 2400 First-person games, 3200 general use.

Since my mouse only has 3 settings, I have to adjust it at times for things like editing photos.

I also use 100% unchanged, no acceleration settings ingame if possible. Not entirely sure how DPI and mouse acceleration/sensitivity works all tgether but I know that for first-person scenarios, it makes my camera movements far less erratic and more precise/fluid feeling. Very natural. With RTS-style games it depends but I've noticed it helps with frame skip or whatever it's called, where the mouse cursor goes where it shouldn't be going based on my hand movement.

It's like having a cat hair/piece of lint in front of the mouse sensor and lifting the mouse up slightly over a terrible mouse surface, then attempting to be speedy about your hand movement..

I almost always use around 200 DPI. Seriously, why would anybody need 10,000 DPI.(I'm looking at you, DeathAdder Chroma)

Multiple answers would be nice. I use 600-800 for photoshop work, 2500 for gaming, and 6000 for everything else.

1800 dpi..
My MX518 doesn't go any higher.

I do have a laser mouse somewhere... but damn thing is too sensitive and the cursor moves just from me typing on the keyboard... bad, just bad. Doesn't move if I don't touch anything, so it's not like it moves by itself.. laser is too sensitive compared to optical.

If I set my mouse at 200 dpi, it moves slower than a ant moving across the ground... it's SLOW. Did you increase the speed of the cursor in windows to compensate? Because even ball mice weren't that slow...

NOPE.

Ask any former professional cs/quake player, they will say the same thing. Anything over 1600 DPI is marketing gimmick bullshit. The sweespot is somewhere between 800-1600dpi. If you're using 3200+, you're doing it wrong.

Honestly, what competitive gamer cares about 4k? Go crawl back into your hole. Also, I'm positive most rts players don't use anything above 1600+. Don't believe me? Go on teamliquid and search for yourself.

I use as well MX518 and there's only two games I mainly play and that's CS:GO & LoL. For LoL I have it set from 800-1300 and for CS:GO 900-1400(playing at 1920x1080). ^_^

I currently use 8200 DPI on a 1080 monitor. Since that is the highest my Roccat Kone Pure goes up to. Mouse sensitivity is set to 6/11. All done with 1000Hz polling, although for LANs I use 3200 DPI of my Zowie FK1.

800 DPI on 1080p screen (Windows speed at 6/11 and enhanced precision disabled). Used to use 1600 before but now that feels way to fast and hard to control.

1800 to around 3600 for 1080p gaming and web browsing.  2400 - 5000 for 2560x1440p or 3000 - 5600 for 2560x1600 resolution.

I use 800 DPI.  My mouse has a DPI switch to bump that up to 1600, but I didn't like it.

My mouse is at 1150 dpi on 1920x1080. For most of the things that I do, I find this to be a good spot. 450 dpi is too low for desktop use for me, but a lot of the games I play, I play at 450 dpi. A lot of the games I play have sensitivity adjustments that don't go low enough for me at 1150 dpi, so having that hardware button for switching DPI is a complete necessity for me.

If I was running at 1440p, I would probably go for about 1600 dpi, as that would be almost identical to the current setup I have. Similarly, 2300 dpi if I was running 2160p.

I own and use, sorted from newest to oldest: SteelSeries 6Gv2. Microsoft SideWinder X4. Mionix Naos 7000. Zowie EC1 Evo. Microsoft SideWinder X8. Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Dell U2414H. Samsung P2270H. AKG K273 Pro. Sennheiser HD555. Razer Goliathus Speed Medium. Func 1030 L. Qpad CT Medium.

I used to own: Razer DeathAdder 3G. Razer Krait. IntelliMouse Optical 1.1. SteelSeries QcK.

For web surfing i run at 2300 and gaming i do 1800. I dont understand how people do lower it just makes it such a chore to have to pick it up and move the mouse every time i want to re aim, the only time i even lift it is when i have to fly a chopper or a plane.
