Slow startup with RAID 0

Hi everyone,

I'm back in the Troubleshooting section of the forum, as I have a general inquiry, which could possibly also be a plead for help. Anyways, I set up my RAID 0 of 2 128 gig 840 Pros about a week ago, and I've noticed my startup has taken MUCH longer. I can see the BOOT DEVICE led on my ASUS P8Z77-V Pro motherboard lit up whenever I boot up, which would lead me to believe that my two SSDs are taking a while to respond during boot, resulting in the increased boot times.

If anyone has any insight as to why, and what I can do to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did you set the boot priority to the SSD's? Your system might be going over everything else before getting to your boot drives.

That's the thing, it takes so long to respond that the BIOS is looking for other boot options. I noticed a couple times that the RAID array was taking so long to respond that the BIOS would try booting from my external hard drives, and then tell me there's no OS to boot from (for obvious reasons). My RAID array is basically taking very long to respond, and it's hanging because it can't find an operating system to boot up into.
