What will happen if i remove the PSU fans

I have intel c2d e4600 and Gigabyte GeForce 8600 GT with 400W psu.
What will happen if i remove the fans. Since i have a fanless cpu cooler and passive cooler gpu the PC will be silent  

Specs: AMD FX 6300 @ 4ghz, Asus R9 270 OC, 8gb Corsair xms3, Cooler Master GX 550w PSU, WD 500 blue, Gigabyte  GA-970A-DS3

The PSU could overheat and probably blow something, like a main capacitor. Don't do it.

Eeh the PSU will not function and will overheat and your pc will be gone in flames! No not really but dont remove the fans.

Im going to guess and say the fan is there for a reason..

Depends on the PSU for that actually. My OCZ ZT750 would not power up at all with a bad fan, but replaced the fan  and it still functions fine (a little louder now though :/ ).  

That said, it is never a good idea to remove the fan. If you do not want a fan on your PSU, it is better to buy one that is designed to not have a fan.

Well somebody has to do it, i just want to see how hot it gets,if it starts getting too hot i will turn it off

Depends on the PSU,

If it's a high-quality unit, it will not even turn on since it senses a critical fan failure.

If it's a mid-tier unit, it will turn on but shutdown rather quickly once the thermal fuse trips. Depending on the PSU you may or may not need to completely replace the fuse to get it running again.

If it's a Deer then *kaboom*.
