Post Your Uptime Here.

I keep my main PC on 24/7

And my server PC has been on for around 1 year straight (Yes, it has a battery backup surge protector so when electricity goes it stays on)

It's fine if you know what you're doing (Monitoring temps etc)

Leaving it on for years on end is better than turning it on and off in terms of longevity.

It's actually better for the health of hard drives, since it's the load/unload cycles that kill them.

Unless you have some of those annoying green drives that park the heads if nothing is being written or read to and from the drive.

The stars died for you to be here today.

My work systems don't ever turn off. Not any of them.

Same is true for home, just at a much smaller scale.

If you can afford to power it, and cooling is thought out, you'll be just fine.

The projects never end in my line of work.

People here do month+ long uptimes. Don't worry about it, unless it's overheating no damage should happen.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

as long as it's running at its operational temperatures, you can usually leave a computer running for as long as you like. However, it is a good idea to shut it down or put it to sleep every once in a while

I've had my PC on for about 24 hours now while folding, and since the CPU barely hits 51oC, and both GPU are 47-55oC its fine for 24/7 usage (Seidon 120V on the i5 4440, and both graphics cards have the fans locked at 60% and 80% respectively). If your temps are low running for 24 hours won't cause problems.

I'm currently at 7 days of uptime. The highest I've gone was while Folding, I did close to 60 days of 24/7 Folding.

I could actually manage that, the temps are ridiculously low in my rig and 24/7 folding is easy for it.

I've had my PC running 24/7 for almost 2 years now. About 3 months ago, it started running like crap. GPU and CPU idled at 60C, and come to find out the thermal paste sucked. Thanks to some Arctic Silver 5 and some dusting, i've been able to get both my CPU down to 35C and my GPU to 40.

I'm at like two days with my laptop. Abnormal for me as I usually turn everything fully off but it uses so little power when asleep it hardly matters.
