Studio Tour when?

Someday, but not today.

That is, to say, I wanna do a bit more organization before I actually show off all of my tapes.

And truth be told, the vast majority of my interesting tapes are all contained within that image, anyways. I have a few others that I could get pictures of, but to be honest, I don't think anyone cares about seeing two 1997 copies of Fun and Fancy Free or three copies of Twister.

i did. after factoring in tax, he made 150 from his luck at microcenter, and I got the card. Fair trade imo. Same for my 5950x, for which i paid 950 and the scalper made 70 bucks

I am considering just being a chump and paying double at this point for a 3060 ti. I don't have time to watch newegg and others all waking hours of the day to get one at MSRP, so if I want one I guess that's the route. I don't think one is worth $850, but that seems to be the only way to buy one new.

I bought a Vincent SV-237MK speaker amplifier for the living room. I swear, hifi equipment has the sexiest names:

IMG_20210113_084930__01.thumb.jpg.43a4e2fd7738096920f343240c38d88e.jpg

Yes, I'm waiting for a new shelf, as well.

It's meant to replace a Harmon Kardon Citation tube amplifier, which was honestly more work than it was worth.

The Vincent is a very decent piece of kit for the money. It has plenty of power and it sounds great.

By this point I'm sure having a hobby is just being a shopaholic with a purpose.

don't buy off ebay. Buy off apps like offerup or facebook marketplace, and choose to meet in person at the local police station. Ebay charges sellers tax, even on second hand items, nevermind brand new GPUs, driving the price up naturally. Then there is the fact that you as a buyer have to pay another layer of tax on ebay, meaning the price soars. If i'd bought my 6900xt on ebay, i would've paid easily 1750usd, an extra 500. most 3060ti's i see are listed for 650 on offerup, could probably get the price down 10-20 bucks through bargaining. Still, paying 210 above msrp+tax for a 3060ti is a bit too much imo, that's a 48% markup, whereas the 6900xt i bought was only a 14% markup. Then again, a man has to game...

People can hate on scalpers all they want, rightly so, but one simply can't say what they're doing is wrong. It's simply a product of free market economics where the price equilibrium has changed based on what people deem these cards to be worth.

At least eBay has buyer protections and if, for some reason, the seller is selling a bad card, then they will get screwed over on eBay much better than FB Marketplace. I'd rather do that than buy from a website with no protections.

They are moving in that direction, their "Skywalker" model has usb-c, unfortunately most are out of stock and this was his favorite in-stock model.

Go to a local smaller shop. My local shop had 2 3070's and 2 3080's like a week ago.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Maybe boring, not helped by me not even posting a photos, but finally managed to get a 5000series CPU after trying since launch. Got a 5800x, which I was initially against due to the daft pricing, but 5600x out of stock, 5900x is honestly too much CPU for me which will never get used to it's full potential. Also helped by price dropping to £400 here in the UK and I had about £120 of vouchers/discount codes so ended up costing me £280 of my own money which I was happy with.

Upgrading from a 2600, now I just need to wait for the upgrade bits for my loop before I go draining and bending hardtube...

After three months of watching and waiting I finally got a 3070! Best Buy seriously came through with a stellar drop last Tuesday. I felt like a kid on Christmas when I saw my "Ready for Pickup" email.

Got some offset bushings to drop my BB height a bit, and slacken the head angle off to 63.28 degrees.

Bike is feeling very good now. Longer fork, Shimano drivetrain again (SRAM was bloody annoying), Hope bits and bobs everywhere, Now some offset bushings.

Also ordered a "thing" from Porsche, but I'll make a post about that another time.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Very nice. The new Apple Watches are pretty cool. My Series 2 is getting up there in age but its perfectly capable of tracking a walk and showing notifications. Any particular reason you got the Lighting to HDMI adaptor?

The SE would be the perfect upgrade path for you if you don't need all of the fancy sensors which the 6 offers. The Lightning to HDMI adaptor is for hocking up the iPad (maybe also iPhone if I feel silly) to the TV/Monitor.

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

I'm Swiss and my Mother language is Swiss German of course, I speak the Aargauer dialect. If you want to watch a great video about Swiss German which explains the language and outlines the Basics, then click here.

Finally ended up buying a DAP.

It actually is able to meet a few of my other needs so i didn't have to buy more stuff.

  • Music player (since headphone jacks are going to disappear in phones soon)
  • USB DAC (because my current one is forever shit)
  • Bluetooth receiver (so i can get sound into my mixer from devices that dont have a headphone jack already).

I was deciding on either the a55 for the fiio m9. they both do the same things that i need.

the M9 can drive more powerful headphones, which doesn't matter to me, i mainly use earbuds or my B&O H8i which have a built in amp (because bluetooth as well), and has USB-c instead of the WMport, which would be nice, but not worth an additional $50

This wasn't something I really intended to yoink today, but when I saw the price and I realized what I was looking at, I knew I needed to get it.

An American copy of Def Jam: Fight for NY. This shit goes for a lot of money here, usually north of $60. Yes, this is coming from Japan, but I don't mind it, because if things go as planned, I'm also getting a Gran Turismo 3 poster shipped from Japan to my house soon enough.
