So my ram and headphones came today. Sadly the left ear on the headphones doesnt work so I'll have to return it. Meanwhile enjoy this picture of my ram that I'll probably not use for months until the rest of the componets come.

Finally I realized I could put the legs on without needing a second person to help and so I finished off putting together my new gaming desk from Amazon ... which I got for free after they delivered it late.

So the headphones work now...but what I find funny is the whole issue was I just didnt push it in hard enough 😉. Anyways the pc38x sounds beautiful and I decided to compliment that by adding a , not, equally beautiful photo.

This thing is massive. I think the size of the regular bottle would've been perfect for me, but then I would've missed out on this lovely colour.

Also, I got my FC660C about a week ago:

Haha, I thought it would be a gimmick really and just an expensive branded chair. But they actually do feel really comfortable to sit in.

The only down side though is the hard frame on the tip so sucks if you cross your legs. Still, i'm very happy :)

Not really a purchase, but a fun find nontheless.

It's a PSP-2001.

Story:
My dad bought it and a few games for it, including Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. That's what was in there when I found it, and that's what I played.

Until...

We lost its charger.

For 7 years.

I found another one online for 5 bucks and bought it, worked perfectly, except...

The game wouldn't load.

Oh sure, it would load, but as soon as the PSP logo flashed on screen, it would go black and nothing would happen

For a while, I thought it was the optical drive. It would make this screech/scream sound, and it didn't sound great, so I thought it might be that. I looked into replacing it by myself.

I then found a few other games and decided to try those. Those worked fine, so I knew it wasn't that.

I looked at the back of the disc, and immediately knew the problem.

It was so fingerprinty (a few scratches, but mostly fingerprints) I was amazed it read it at all.

So I took it out of the case, cleaned it, stuck it back in, worked fine*.

Here. Pictures.

Spoiler

*The optical drive still screeches/screams. This makes new areas load more slowly.

Whoa, new page!

Uhm, you do know that EVERY PSP does that because of the rather loud laser movement? It is really loud, yeah, my "PSP Street" (the newer one without the removable battery, WiFi and only a mono speaker) isn't any better and neither was my PSP 3004 Slim and Lite before that.

Didn't do that before.

I know - I have a recording of me using it.

Do one's own, custom PCBs count as a purchase? I mean, I am ordering them from JLCPCB and I am paying them money for them, so I would argue it is a purchase.

Well I've become fed up with the shitty Vacuums my Parents have and ya know they're Boomers so they won't buy new unless it's completely broken so I just bought myself a Dyson. Wanted one for years and this one will definitely last for years to come. Also it was on discount.

Mainly for home-automation. I did include luminance-, temperature-, humidity- and motion-sensing, so I can put one in every room. There's also LoRa for long-range stuff, which I can just leave unsoldered for boards that will stay inside the main building.

I already owned the Japanese and American versions of Fantavision, so why not add the European version to the mix?

IMG_0617.JPG

And yes, it's a British copy of the game... shipped from Arizona, unusually enough.

And because the sticker's on the fucking cover art instead of the plastic cover itself, I had to settle for a scan of the inlay's version of the cover art.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!
