Got myself a new TV antenna. It’s the ChannelMaster Stealthtenna 50. Didn’t previously have an antenna in my new place so I’ll finally be able to watch OTA HD tv.

The antenna is a Yagi-Uda with two active elements and 4 passive reflectors. I’m still waiting for my quad shield coax and Belden compression F connectors to show up.

If the antenna works well I’m thinking of picking up a HDHomerun or a pcie tuner for Plex. Since my apartment complex doesn’t allow antennas I’m going to mount it stealthily inside the apartment. Interested to see what happens on the gain. I’ll also be running it vertically polarized in (E plane) instead of horizontally (H plane) which will affect its characteristics. More to come soon!

PS: also trying to find a way to setup my ham radio antenna...

Digitec connect mobile subscription:

My brother created a connect family so each of us (a friend from my brother, my brother and I) will have 5GB of data with unlimited calls & SMS in Switzerland each month and it just costs each of us 25 bucks. You can add up to five people in a connect family and then per new member everyone will get an extra 1 GB of Data each month and the price stays the same. It starts at 3 GB of Data per month for the mobile subscriptions for Smartphones, you can also get IoT subscriptions with lower or higher to unlimited amounts of data each month but then those are meant for IoT devices.

25CHF? That's around 23€ right?

I get 20gb data for 17€, lol.

Yes, 25CHF is 23€. If two more people join the connect family then everyone gets unlimited amounts of Data, SMS and Calls for again just 25CHF.

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

Quick backstory:

I currently work for a mixing/mastering company, and I master audio for a living. I've decided to start my own company, So I've needed to kit out 3 studios, aswell as getting another playback system for a live audio reference, no point in making music sound good on monitors or audiophile speakers, if it wont sound good up louder than what monitors and "audiophile" speakers can manage to muster. (no, I didn't pay for all this myself, thanks Barclays business loans!)

Hence, a pair of these babies: (Had to order them over the phone, which is absolutely the worst way to buy something. Fuck telesales)

image.png.b97151e5149b149f5c516bf38f054abe.png

Martin Audio MLA Mini, and MSX subwoofer/power amplifiers.

So, now I can achieve 142dB peaks, which is way more than anything will likely be listened to at.

image.png.cdd8f2043e7bff397460b378311c27fc.png

Martin Audio is also the same company that provides all the audio at Glastonbury festival, little fun fact.

Also, a bunch of recording, mixing etc. playback gear:

image.png.03ba8dd521a81216bd24581a9bbc1f19.png

image.png.78d3fe59b544973605dd4d25fadfefca.png

I've only got 1 subwoofer per studio right now, I might choose to upgrade to two per room if I feel like they aren't filling the bass out quite enough, or are distorting etc.

Yes, I know each studio has different monitors, and the Focals are technically two speakers in once. Very interesting product. Reason for having different speakers is to make sure the audio scales across different audio devices well. No point in making audio sound great on one pair of speakers, but complete crap on another pair.

Also, a Crown power amplifier for hopefully a pair of ATC's I'm getting used off Ebay for a great price, if I can get the deal sorted, if not I'm most likely gonna grab a passive pair of PMC monitors.

You're sure they can't work on Windows 10 with modern hardware?

I know Far CryDelta Force (1998), Delta Force 2 (1999), Delta Force: Land Warrior (2002), Delta Force: Task Force Dagger (2002), Delta Force: Black Hawk Down (2003), Delta Force Xtreme (2005) etc. do.

MOH games give me crash to desktop besides the latest which is airborne on my Ryzen machine, Mashed don't work on Windows 10.

DF games i have not played for a long time so will buy them when i get my PC together.

Far Cry 1 runs on a broken patch on Steam. Graphics are sub par on later OS too due to missing features that XP had such as water reflections.

I can grab these games for like 50 pence or lower on disc vs buying for £3.99 upwards on online retailers also.

The hardware altogether so far without PSU & case has cost me £45

Small purchase this time.

My JBL's aren't at quite the correct height as the current stands for them do not have fine enough adjustments, hence the new stands.

Another small one:

These AKG's are great for high SPL applications, which I'll need for room correcting my line arrays. This little microphone can handle up to 152dB, which my line arrays are only 10dB away from. Plus it's frequency response is very similar to my line arrays, rolls off at 18kHz.

Welcome to my upside down, messy man cave (the wife don't mind, it's just the place we dump everything, perfect for my XP build!)

Thinking about doing the room out and having a bit of a gaming room, we shall see.

It's built but with the crap ASrock board, i have to wait a while for my ASUS to arrive, all parts testing and working besides the Corsair sticks.. which is worrying, got the CPU up from stock to 3.4ghz with no voltage adjustment though, CPU cooler is amazing! paid £12 and it never exceeds 42c, not bad for a G31 chipset craptastic board.

Radeon 4850 get's no hotter than 53c and is quiet and i have all settings maxed in ATi CCP which makes Far Cry run at from 49-303fps, 49 when there is a massive amount of dense foliage, transparency AA really taps the GPU out, i shall have to lower it for more demanding games on Windows XP.

Sound card don't work under Windows XP which is a shame, keeping my eyes out for a Audigy S2 instead!

Coolermaster Elite 430 bought second hand for only £10 was a real steal, it has no room to hide cables behind the back of the board, however it has excellent airflow and i quite dig the classic look it has, applied a Core 2 Duo sticker because why not?

Bought a BenQ monitor cheap, does 75hz at 1280x1024, perfect for those older games at 4:3 aspect, and the monitor can deliver Full HD in games that can do that aspect and res.

Settled on the Be Quiet 400W System Power 9, deal was too good to pass up at just £22.99 locally, solid little unit too!
