My last purpose is a chainsaw and I am still waiting for it :D  Poulan is Best for lighter jobs I suppose.

By the way I spent too much time to choose the best one. I've checked a lot of reviews about  best poulan chainsaws and I hope I made a right decision. Anyway we'll see

At work, forty years ago, we wisecracked that Poulans got their name from the number of times you have to pull on them to get them started. Chain saws have come a long ways since them.

I picked up some more goodies from my mail service today. I searched the world over to find powdered nitrile gloves but was only able to find one vendor (on Fleabay) that carried them (everyone else only carried powder free ? ). I have a hard time getting powder free gloves on my hands.

I occasionally like to listen to instrumental Zydeco music but most Zydeco music has vocals. I found this one (again, on Fleabay) that I was able to sample on Boobtube so I pulled the trigger on it.

IMG_0315.thumb.JPG.6b5fdd91a8243f4bc7eab19519e835e7.JPG

It's OK. I'll be scanning and ripping it this weekend.

I needed some 8mm T-bolts but was able to find only one vendor who sold the darned things; Banggood.com in China. I hate buying from Chinese vendors since so many of them are crooked as a dog's hind leg (Banggood doesn't have the best reputation) and it takes a long time to get shipments to the SSA.

IMG_0318.thumb.JPG.fca693a08af0acfa700bc2691c302193.JPG

Fortunately, the shipment arrived OK although it took the scenic route getting here (China to Chicago area to Indiana to the Lake Tahoe area before finally making it to the Phoenix area. I need these for a router table I'm going to build later this year.

Earlier, I showed a couple of sets of carbide Forstner bits, each of which had the smallest three bits not being true Forstner bits. I found some Freud (aka expensive) replacement 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" carbide bits.

IMG_0320.thumb.JPG.9bb2f2c5eacb39a5fd5be9179ed090b0.JPG

For the life of me, I could not find any carbide Forstner bits in 5/16", 7/16", and 9/16" so I caved and bought replacements in HSS steel. Even then, I had trouble finding decent ones in those sizes. I got these Fisch bits (also expensive; Freud and Fisch are high end companies). They won't be as durable as carbide bits but the beat the holy, hairy heck out of the alternative. I was going to put the replacements in the two sets but I decided to keep the bogus bits in the sets for drilling routine holes and keep the good ones in a separate case for when I need to drill overlapping holes.

IMG_0323.thumb.JPG.bd012750c207fbbb3b427d4ba68a2a5d.JPG

Fisch is made in Austria. However, despite their reputation, I'm not as impressed as I could have been. Wavecutter refers to the rim of the bit having a wavy pattern. Wavy pattern rims run cooler than smooth rims and both are accurate when drilling overlapping holes (mulipoint or saw toothed rims run cooler and cut faster but are not a s accurate. Sadly, only the 9/16" is actutally a wavy rim. The other two just have spurs (not even an actual rim) but, at least, they are far better than the overglorified spade/bradpoint bits that came in the sets. Sigh!

Also, they were rage wrapped (plastic packaging welded shut). Even worse, the heads of the bits were in a bubble that stuck out on both sides of the packaging, making it impossible to lay them flat on my bandsaw table. I had to shim the *&^%$#@ things so I could cut off the *&^%$#@! welds without endangering my fingers (I've grown attached to them and prefer keeping them intact). Stupid Austrians!

Try a larger size or different brands.

A larger size will result in the fingers of the glove being too long and big around and the body of the glove being too loose. Then, I might as well be wearing mittens. That problem would exist no matter what brand I used (and I have tried several).

Powdered gloves used to be common but, now, they are almost impossible to find. I don't know if it is because manufacturers are too cheap to powder their gloves, people are afraid of talcum powder fo the publicity of cancer caused by the use of talcum powder for feminine hygiene (actually, the cancers were allegedly caused by asbestos in the talcum powder which has never been proven), or both (such as manufacturers taking advantage of the cancer paranoia to get away with cheaping out on the powder).

Could it be because medical grade powdered gloves have been banned by the FDA due to health risks ???

I didn't criticize, I'm not discussing your point, I even agree with you on some necessary steps to be taken, and anyway it is present everywhere.

I didn't criticize either your preferred use of powdered gloves, it's your personal preference for your own comfort. I simply tried to answer your question and later I retracted it as I saw that you did answer it yourself.

I just said that is was a personal preference about products whose "main" ingredient is a by-product of refined petroleum on my skin. That's all! I'm fine with people who want to use it, I'm not one to impose my point of view on others.

I'm sorry if I came across as critizing your decision to eschew mineral oil, etc. or that I thought you were criticizing me. It was not my intent.

Burnout 3: Takedown for the Xbox.

I actually already have this game on the PS2 but the disc is scratched to fuck so I decided "eh, the game's backwards compatible on the Xbox 360, so why not get it here?" It honestly plays quite a lot better than the PS2 version does.

I got myself a 2015 Fiat Ducato XLWB cargo van yesterday, going going to spend the next few months converting the inside as a campervan kinda thing so i can travel around Australia and do the touristy thing in my own country ?

My plans so far are to have around 900 watts of solar on the roof and a 400 or so amp hour lithium battery bank so i can still run my PC, TV and game consoles while also being able to charge up an electric motorbike that i have my eye on (Sur Ron Light Bee X), it'll also have all of the basics like a fridge, kitchen and shower/toilet.  Will probably show some updates as things progress in the months ahead but i'd love to hear any tech related any suggestions any of you may have for such an undertaking.

Thanks in advance!

(I'm aware i won't be able to do all of those things at the same time, just thought i'd say that before someone felt the need to point it out lol)

I got a Swiss gear 1900 backpack for school. If you're looking for a bag with a ton of space and an included laptop sleeve this one works great. My dad has one he's been using for years and no tears or stretches. All the zippers work. I got the blacked out one. I can easily fit all of my school supplies in here, organized easily.

It's great! I hadn't had the issue of the Gen 1 corrupting the database with power loss, but the battery in the Gen 2 removing the concern was a plus. Unifi Protect is also awesome. I know you could dump both things in a VM, but then you've got a host OS to worry about keeping up to date and whatnot, so I really do like the idea of the cloud key. CPU seems plenty capable of running both platforms.
