I just hope newer duallies aren't as damn quirky as this board is. With how long it took me to get it working 90% correctly (a whole 3 days), we'd never get to take over the world.

 

Now all I need are some nice 370 heatsinks so that the enemy won't hear me coming, because in typical 370/478 Intel stock fashion these things grind.

From what I understand, most fairly modern dual setups work pretty flawless now. Just look how many server boards are out there now running 2 or more CPUs, and they HAVE to be reliable.

These just got delivered today, right to my doorstep! First off, a Gigabyte RX VEGA 64 Gaming OC (I'd sold off the reference RX VEGA 64)

The Logitech G29 steering wheel and pedals also came today (Christmas came early this year  )

A rough setup of the wheel and pedals, will fine tune the cable management later....I also need to fine tune the controls, default's a little too sensitive (or maybe the screen's too wide for the default sensitivity setting, I dunno, but I'll have to roll up my sleeves and fine tune the controls as well). I know the speakers and placement of speakers aren't ideal, but I'm dealing with a very limited amount of space.....

First foray into modular synthesis, got me a Moog Mother 32, a Moog Drummer from another Mother, a Doepfer A-138 logarithmic mixer, and a Tip Top Audio uZues for rack power. Making the bleeps and boops with the booms and crashes. It's good fun and insanely complex.

I highly recommend project cars (1 and 2) for the wheel. Personally run a T500RS and it's a blast. Also, a Shifter is pretty nice to have if you like to drive manual. The Logitech one is shit though, definitely get the Thrustmaster (or whatever) one if you decide to.

Oh yeah, I have Project Cars 2 downloaded in Steam (as well as Dirt 2, Dirt 4 and Dirt Rally), will get to playing it later as I've yet to fine tune the sensitivity. I was of two minds about getting the Logitech gear shifter as I prefer auto, perhaps will add the shifter later.....but would the Thrustmaster shifter work with my G29?

Yeah, Thrustmaster is usb and therefore works fine with anything. Not the other way around though as the Logitech Shifter uses a proprietary connection into the G29 (and G92. Too iirc) wheel. 

It's hella lot of fun but I play too infrequently sadly.

Awesome! Will keep that in mind should I feel like getting a shifter. Right now, I'm comtemplating a wireless gamepad, any to recommend? I have a wired XBOX 360 controller for the two gaming rigs, but need a wireless one for the 4K TV in my living room/hall, any recommendation?

Only gamepad I'd ever touch is the "Xbox" one. I've personally got the one of my One S connected to my PC via the 20€ dongle. I think it's a little lighter then the 360 controller but i you get used to it quickly.

Picked these up from my mail service yesterday.

 

SATA to USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB 3.0 before some morons renamed it) cables. These come in handy for backing up my notebook, setting up new SSDs, etc. I already had two I keep in my notebook's bag but, being the lazy old bit...biddy I am, I also wanted a pair I could keep in the drawer where I keep my backup and spare SSDs. They were cheap enough so I also got a spare.

 

 

This is a spare PSU I caught on sale. Even though I live in a megalopolis, it's usually impossible to find replacement parts locally (as in a 50 mile radius) so I like to keep spare parts handy to minimize down time if something releases its magic smoke. Also, I've had critical parts become obsolete more times than I can count so that is another reason for getting spare parts.

 

 

I caught this roller ball "mouse" at a reduced price. It's different from other roller balls I've tried so, since I need more desktop space, I thought I would give it a try.

 

 

 

So far, I have not been impressed. It's slow and clumsy and my old thumb isn't steady enough to land the pointer anywhere with any accuracy. I didn't like mice (mouses?) when I first started using them, either, so, maybe, I just need some practice. I also need to look up what those two extra buttons are far (it didn't come with directions).
