That controller looks more uncomfortable than an N64 controller.

I've owned a SC since April. It's pretty comfortable.

Yeah, I colocate my personal servers in various data centers around the US.

Why?  That doesn't seem cost effective or practical unless I'm not understanding something.

It's rather cheap when it comes down to it, for what you tend to get. Add that onto it not going on your residence power bill (which could be insane with a few servers) as well as not having what sounds like a jet engine running in your house, AND redundancy off-site in multiple locations (if, say, your house catches fire and one server bites the dust somewhere)....

It's free for me so its actually cheaper for me to host them in a data center with dedicated 1Gbps ports and A+B network/power than it is for me to run them at home. I own a web services company with my dad so as long as we have cabinet space and extra power I'm able to throw in a 1U server here and there until we need the space. In Tampa we have a 42U cabinet and we're using only 7U of it I believe so I'm good for a while. :)

But even if I did have to pay for it, I'd gladly pay the $50/month for a 1Gbps port with redundant network and power.

Wow, $50 a month? Do they impose limits on how much data/power you use, or is it like "as long as you're within reason, you're fine"?

It depends on the location. Most of the data centers I use cap you at 10TB a month which is plenty for a personal server. Usually it only includes 1 amp of power but additional power is usually only around $10-$20 per amp a month.

That's not too bad I suppose. I know Azure likes to rip you a new asshole (at least in my eyes) when it comes to data. 500GB for ~$30 USD... Meh.

10TB on a 1Gbps port for $50 is really cheap. I pay upwards of $10 per 1Mbps in some data centers which is cheap for small commits of sub-1Gbps. The per GB and TB billing is really good for clients, not so good for data centers which might explain why Azure charges so much.

I bought some AAA batteries the other day.

I bet none of you have any of those since the laws of physics dictate that you will always "have the right kind of batteries" unless the time comes for you to need them. They will then suddenly disappear, thus forcing you to go to walmart and buy another package of like 15 batteries when you really only need 3.

More of a trade then buy.  ....Think this the biggest heat sink I have ever seen on a 980Ti.

Supposedly it hits over 1500MHz on air with its stock BIOS.  Going to smack a block or AIO on it, and abuse the poor card with F@H and BOINC.

So I decided to put an old AMD APU to use in the living room and bought some pieces to get it going. I got a $70 GC from Amazon because I decided to get their nifty credit card and I also get a $20 visa MIR from newegg, so I saved $90 in all.
