Not exactly a purchase, my AKG K812  went bad on me about six weeks back, the right side went dead. I sent it off to the local distributor to be repaired. They told me they can't do anything but will forward it to AKG in Austria to handle the repair/replacement. Days turned to weeks, and after just about six weeks, I'd gotten a call from the local distributor that AKG has decided to replace it. I was expecting to be hit with a few hundred bucks as replacement cost as I believe the headphone is off warranty. When I was told the amount I'd have to pay, I was pleasantly surprised as I'd only have to cover the freight charges......about 50USD. The local distributor took out a brand new unit, opened it in front of me and handed me a brand new K812!  Now that's excellent after sales service......and really great of AKG to replace it for free as a goodwill gesture, really surprised me that they'd made such a gesture. Sure as hell made me an instant AKG fanboy for life! I was prepared to pay up to 500USD for a replacement, so to only pay 50USD was an instant win for me. :D

One thing I'd noted, while my old K812 had a 'Made In Austria' printed on it, the new one has a sticker on the inside of the headband showing its country of origin....

Forgot to post this, but this is the last thing my mom got me. I need to get a screen bezel and a new backlit keyboard for it though.

The last item I bought was 4 x 5kg cast iron plates for my dumb bells raising the total weight for each dumb bell to 20KG (maximum)

The last tech item I bought was Sony mdr zx330bt headphones for working out because I hate having my phone in my pocket when lifting, might accidentally break it if I don't control my holding of the dumb bell

I want to make proper BT speaker using a decent sized bookshelf speaker. I don't get how people can stand the sound out of most of these.

My friend had a set of those Bob Marley ones that kinda looked like drums, and I have to admit: for being battery powered, they did not sound too horrible. The lows were meh, highs were decent, but they sounded really hollow. Fuckers were loud too, so we had some fun with that in the school.

I was thinking something like my Acoustic Research AR18's maybe something a touch smaller. I have handles on the top of mine so they are easy to carry around. Maybe build them a bit beffier otu of metal instead of wood and condense them a bit and bingo!

I bought an 1800mAh battery for my 3310, which is exactly twice what the current (original) 900mAh one had when it was new.

Seeing as I still get 8-9 days out of that 15 year old battery, with the new one the phone should get close to 3 weeks on a single charge.  Take that, smartphones.

For those who are interested : the original one's battery life is okay (8 to 9 days, as mentioned earlier), but it does get uncomfortably hot when charging while it should only get lukewarm.  I'm not taking any chances.

hey i wish I had a smartphone that would do the. The first change needed would be a eInk or ePaper screen. i really dont know why there hasn't been a smartphone with one of those yet...

Not quite my purchase, but helped my little sister pick a good laptop to suit her needs.

We ended up in Lenovo B50-30 15,6" laptop for around 270€. Specs are meh (Celeron N2840, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, intel HD graphics, 500GB HDD, Win 8.1 64-bit), but she just needs a reliable laptop under 300€ to browse the web on and to carry around with her.

Would have gone for some better second-hand laptop, but there wasn't much to choose from, in all honesty.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

So did you poison yourself? Do you have diarrhea? If so, why don't go to the doctor, he probably would have given you a thingy to get it paid by your insurance.

Yes, light food poisoning. Puplic healthcare insurers don't pay for basic medicaments.

A private health insurance is too expensive and if you can't pay your fees anymore for whatever reason you can't go back to public healthcare.

A second tv. took me ages to do the cabling which was not as straight forward as the tv mount is near flush with the wall. happy with the end result.

now I just need to buy a small pc for a media centre so I can hook up foxtel go to it (mistakenly I thought foxtel play & foxtel go were the same thing :()

Edit:not going to bother with foxtel for this tv got my self a Netflix account
