Got sick of LED lights kicking the bucket after about 6 months...

Curious. I have LEDs that are several years old and are still working just fine. I use a type of Phillips that is no longer being made (I bought a bunch of spares for that reason and have yet to need them) and Crees.

what is it about kek

too lazy to google

It's a tech demo stretched out to be a full game... on a DVD, oddly enough.

Nah, kidding, it's really kind of a puzzle game involving fireworks. It's weird. It looks pretty good graphically.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

I kicked off Black Friday with 3 Kilograms of Lindt Chocolate. While you can get this stuff throughout the entire year, the first one still marks the beginning of Christmas time for me. It's the first time I'm buying that many though.

If you never had one of these just imagine the best piece of chocolate you ever had and multiply by 1000x.

(best ones are the red though)

Technically my latest purchase is my favourite Danish beer (FAXE, 5.6% ABV, "Festive can") and Leffe (Belgian Blonde, 6.6% ABV) but for hardware it's a 3950X "purchase"

If overclockers gets new stock within the next week or so, I'll have 16 cores on the mainstream platform.

And that's pretty nuts imo.

>Imagine having a 16 core CPU in a PC that's not just portable but around foot long and a foot tall.

Absolute insanity.

Got sick of LED lights kicking the bucket after about 6 months so I decided to jump back to CFLs.[...]

Most of the time, when a LED bulb dies it is because the LED driver in the bulb's base died. There are several ways to build such a driver, some are cheaper and less reliable than others. What also matters is how hot that part gets. For example electrolytioc capacitors in there don't like having too much heat, it can shorten their lifespan considerably.
When shopping for LEDs, I make sure to get one from a reputable brand. One quick test you can also do when the bulb is on display and turned on at the shop is to take your mobile phone and look at it through the camera. If it is visibly flickering, this indicates that the LED itself flickers at too low a frequency which can be really annoying and often is a sign of a cheap driver being used.

Stealth spire for $11, set of AM4 mounts for $5. My $50 Tomahawk board was bare. I figured I should probably get a cooler if I'm going to be using a cpu in the board lol.

Broke down, got a 2700X for $135 after 15% back with my Amazon card, I can sell the game codes it came with to further rebate it also so 2700X for 2600 pricing, meh not bad. Probably won't even OC it much past maybe some 1 or 2 core OC to benefit some older low thread count stuff if it even needs the help. I'm excited, this is my most up to date build since my E8400 system! Also my first computer to top 4ghz, at least stabilly.

A few games on GoG, including one I'd been waiting for a sale on for a long time now (since frankly it's not worth more... it's so old).  Gotta love it when you've got the option to toggle the use of "MMX capabilities" xD

As for hardware, most recent thing is a G403.  I had been hoping for a G603, but I realized that it wasn't likely to go on sale (and now looking around it turns out I was right), and plus I found the 403 on for a good discount.  Quite happy with it, and although no wireless is somewhat of a downside, not having to deal with batteries is honestly an upside of at least the same degree.

Upgraded from some crappy beats eps to a pair of Corsair hs60 pros. They feel a lot better already! And a good deal. Only $40. Now I can jam out without my headphones falling off of my head.

My two LG 23" 1080p finally packed up, funnily enough within days of each other....

Got a solid 5 year out of them mind.

(The stupid paint scheme behind it is because I had holes to patch, but didn't have any of the grey paint left....)

That's a clean af Desktop you got there. Which Mouse are you using and where is your system ?

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

I'm Swiss and my Mother language is Swiss German of course, I speak the Aargauer dialect. If you want to watch a great video about Swiss German which explains the language and outlines the Basics, then click here.

If I could just play Videogames and consume Cool Content all day long for the rest of my life, then that would be sick.

System is on the left, the Evolv Shift X

Looking back at that makes me wish I'd gone with 2 separate 1440ps... or even 1080

Oh well

Bought a Samsung WL powerbank, a couple of used Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SATA SSD's (couldn't resist the price), an RGB Mouse mat, and a gaming chair (price was too good to resist on the 11.11 sale here).....and a Boxy watch winder. Will post pics when I get 'em all, just waiting for the chair to come later today.

Edit - Forgot to add that I'd ordered an UAG case for my phone as well, expecting it soon, so I will post pics when I have 'em all.

Still a good choice buddy!
