Latest rescue: A Macbook a1181 I got for 5 bucks. Thing was nasty as hell, had all sort of marks on it, etc. Cleaned it up, swapped the busted HDD out for a 120GB SSD I had laying around, upgraded it from 1GB 667 to 4GB 800 and installed Mavericks (because 10.10+ is ugly as shit and this thing isn't really gonna do much anyway). For web browsing, it's still just fine. People underestimate what a 2.0ghz Duo is still capable of. 720p60 youtube videos run at full speed and I have the latest version of Firefox, so it's not obsolete yet. As for gaming, I mainly just stick to old console emulators these days anyway so this old thing could satisfy me. Mainly just happy to have a functional Intel Mac around, even if it is the bare minimum. But it's enough power to run my game, so if I ever get to do a Mac port later on I'll have hardware to do some basic testing on without borrowing anything. I've got a battery on the way too, though it's an ebay cheapy so I don't expect much. Haha, it'll probably still have better battery life than my actual laptop.Screenshot_5.png.e712df9ec72100ea8c8f0730bdb7bf39.png

Even though I've never even owned an Intel Mac before I got this, It's super nostalgic for me too. Back in 2007 when my cousin got one, the main computer of my house was a 400mhz Pentium II, I'd use it to watch Youtube and browse Gamefaqs and stuff. So as you can imagine, I was used to slow, pages taking their time, frequent freezing, 4 fps Youtube videos, etc. My mind was completely blown when I used the Macbook. When I think back to it, it was also my first encounter with a multicore processor, and my first encounter with a 64 bit processor, even though I didn't even know what that meant at the time. xD

Got a Fitbit Versa Lite (of course I had to get blue).

I added a custom watch face, so of course it’s Splatoon related

It feels like you suddenly became obcessed with Splatoon a month or two ago.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

It was about three months ago.  I became obsessed with the game.  I'm honestly glad.  It helped with me getting back into drawing, and (for the most part, I'll rant about that later in the LGBT thread) it has a great community also, so I've met some really cool people and some became friends even.

@kaiju_wars, $100 money from eBay, free shipping. Came in a Dell supplier box and had good foam padding, they're getting good feedback from me.

Has a few scratches but I don't really care for those.

I'm overwhelmed... This is my latest haul I got for 80$. The computers might look super boring, but they are NOT! There are three MSI SLI ready z97 motherboards here, and the rest are sandy/ivy bridge boards. The dummy thick case on the right is a dual socket 771 server board with 8 RAM slots. I don't even know what to do with all this, but holy shit. But yeah, these cases look really deceiving, when I first saw them I thought "oh boy, more 775 PCs", welp, I WAS WRONG. The monitor was a pretty decent 1080p monitor, but it's busted. Oh well, I didn't pay for it so no loss!

my old one has been rather bothersome for awhile now, it's from 2013 and it's a canon with a two cartridge system but it doesn't have too many prints but it's kinda been through a lot lol

Ah, nothing new as of late, but looking at a few Gen 1 i7 laptops... Found a really nice Asus ROG one at my local goodwill... It's in okay shape, but a big step up from what I have in terms of mobile horsepower. 50% off on Sunday, gonna pick it up then if it's still there.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

For $2999 CAD ($2200 USD) it seems to be a good deal when I compared to others.

Dunno if the extended 3-year warranty was worth it, but you never know.
