R-8SW.jpg.43ebdb45cfd66387fbb7701b69e15d69.jpg

Klipsch R-41PM speakers + Klipsch R-8SW subwoofer.  Bit of an upgrade from my Bose Companion 5 speakers.

I wanted to go 1 step up for both the speakers and the sub (R-51PM and R-10SW), but I got a killer deal on this particular combo that I couldn't get on the larger ones.

Can't comment on the sound quality yet, the speakers still need to be broken in and I currently have an ear infection so everything sounds muffled.  Oh, and I can't hook up the sub yet because neither the speakers or the sub came with the cable that connects them.

Also on order :

Soft isolating rubbers.  Even if they turn out to be snake oil in terms of sound quality, at least I won't have to worry about scratching my speakers or my desk.

I'm not going to be properly cable managing these speakers for now (or removing the Bose ones from my desk, for that matter).  I'll probably get me one of those electric sit-stand desks in the next couple of weeks.  Not going to waste 20 minutes messing with cable management now only to take it all apart again in a couple of weeks.

I'll probably post new pics of my complete setup once everything is here and set up properly.

Isolation pads and spikes are mostly too stop crap everywhere vibrating, i use them on all my speakers in my ht just too let the subs do the rumbling :)

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Bought this since the one that came with my USB hub was just barely too short only to realize that Micro USB is incredibly shit and I have to have the perfect angle on my USB hub or it drops. Totally don't understand why TPLink didn't just do USB A to A since it's obviously the right thickness for it...

Oh well, might just stop using my Strafe (since it's needlessly thick cable is a problem) and go back to my old PS/2 QuietKey (membrane boi, not Alps) and just hope and pray that I can somehow go from 28 dollars to ~120 US rupees saved up by my birthday or Christmas so I can get the G Pro TKL.

Good choice of speakers :) but instead of the hegel h90 i would get a seperate networked streamer then a decent power amp with good dynamics. (dali's dont need alot of power to shine, even a clean 15W amp will get them PLENTY loud enough)

I'm still considering my options and waiting to sell the rest of my AV gear to close the deal on an amp for it.

I demoed them on a DarTZeel LHC-208, an absolute monster of an amp, waaaaay too much for them, but they sounded AMAZING on it.

Another option is a Cambridge Azur 851D Pre-Amp + power amp or a Cambridge Azur 851A + DacMagic Plus, the seller said i should propably opt for this last kit.

I think yamaha make a box that is essentially an ethernet in and a 5V in, then it spits out RCA and optical, in 24bit 96khz i think, then obviously pretty much all standard amps have RCA in, and you can get some proper nice amps for 1000-1500 ish.

Getting some of those is quite challenging around here, product choice is quite limited.

The Hegel is around US$1500 in direct conversion and does pretty much everything i want, that's why it was my first choice.

TBF i have alot of seperate components so im probably quite biased. youll probs get more quality with seperates though.

I tend to like separate components as well, the rack looks a lot cooler with lots of equipment!

iPad 6th gen.  I didn't feel like spending the price of the Air, and I picked this up while it was on sale.  Honestly, the A10 Fusion and 2GB of ram will help tremendously with what I use my iPad for.  (plus I can't lie, I wanted the Apple Pencil for drawing).

I've been playing with Photoshop Sketch since it's free.  I like it so far, how much better is Procreate and is it worth the $10?

I'm gonna tell you all right now: that extra 8GB stick was the best $40 I've ever spent on my rig.

TF2 doesn't stutter anymore. Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Motorsport 7 don't hitch for a few seconds on end. I can actually have everything I want open and not face RAM limitations.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!
