An Update From Corsair About The RGB Keyboards...

Gould-Digger

Ahhhhh they have them!

I'm ordering the K95 RGB Brown ASAP when AMAZON UK stock them. Still waiting on Amazon to stock the msi gaming gtx970 too :(

Overclockers have it on their website though

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=702&catid=2705&sortby=priceDesc&subid=1258&mfrid=10

£160 isn't that bad to be honest.

Hopefully It's in my hands before Friday! Same with the GTX970, come on Amazon!!

Lots of reviews will be coming today so I guess I can watch a couple on youtube later on.

Amazon stocked the k95 / k70 red/blue/browns before anyway. Maybe it wasn't available for you?

I really hope they do stock it soon, don't know what's taking them so long!!!

And I'm just going to go for Brown, better for a mix between typing/gaming.

That's lucky you have an eta at least!

But I'm giving them some slack, the gtx970 was just announced on Friday. The Asus one is up but it's heavily overpriced - £450... and I want the MSI one anyway for £280 which is what Scan.co.uk and overclockers have it for.

And the K95 RGB was officially announced literally 1 hour ago haha.

Hello all,

Along with others I was getting very impatience about the release of the new RGB keyboards, I mean it's not like they showed it off to us over 6 months ago...oh.

First of all I contacted corsair via live chat where I was kindly greeted by someone called 'Rowena C'

She said: The red switch version was anticipated to release the end of July, but I am not to sure of it myself. The blue/brown was set for late August.

Not being satisfied with this answer I decided to dig through corsairs websites to find some e-mail addresses, I got this response from a Mr James Cao.

Hi Nathan!

Thanks for your email. We did anticipate a late August/early September release of the K70 RGB keyboards which we made public (along with pricing) at Computex. There was also a blog here a week after too: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/blog/2014/june/computex-wrapup-rgb-keyboards

The link actually states that: The keyboard would be available late July with Cherry MX RGB red switches (blue and brown switches available late August) (K70), along with various other sources including their press release.

It has been a long road and while we have cleared many hurdles, there are still a few more to tackle before this keyboard can be released. One of the consequences of being the first one to work with a new Cherry switch is that we had to design everything from scratch. There is nothing internally that is shared with previous Cherry MX keyboards as we even had to design a new PCB to support the new switches and LED designs. We understand that the wait is crucial and people are very desperate to get their hands on a keyboard, but we will not release a product until we are sure that all the bugs and kinks are squared away in order to deliver a positive customer experience.

There will be nothing more frustrating than to get a product you’ve been waiting almost a year for and it does not live up to the hype or expectations of customers like yourself. We understand not everyone may have patience, it is more important for us to make sure everything is A+ and worthy of the Corsair branding. I understand your impatience but I hope this helps you understand why it has been a long battle.

Regards,

James Cao

Technical Marketing Specialist

I will be e-mailing James later asking him to make some sort of public announcement (Or at least change the dates on their websites) If anyone has any questions or statements that they would like me to include please feel free to leave them in this thread.

-Nathan

*EDIT*

James said he is more than happy to answer any of your questions about the corsair RGB keyboards directly via the forum, he will hopefully be around in the next few days.

It's available at Scan and OCUK (down right now) in the UK right now.

I just ordered one with MX blues.

Waiting for Amazon UK to stock it. Their service is so so so much better and I hope to stick with them for everything in the future.

They also have free returns 30 days, great delivery options to things like amazon lockers (perfect if you live close to one), and honestly the best service I've ever received from any company.

If a product is fulfilled by them they cover it for 1 year. So if there is a problem you don't need to send it back to the manufacturer, you just send it back to them for free for a full refund / or they can send a replacement out next day to you.

If you can wait, I'd highly recommend cancelling and switching to Amazon. Should be up within a few days!

(And I'm not getting paid by Amazon, just know from experience about the excellent service).

Oh and please, whatever you do. STAY AWAY from scan.co.uk!!! Never again ever ordering from Scan. I might try overclockers if Amazon don't have what I want, but they always have had it!

Obviously bad things.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

What happened between u and scan ?

I bought the scansure insurance, they said I bent a pin on the motherboard when I clearly didn't and I checked this thoroughly before sending it back.

Because I bought this insurance (It was hardly anything) they probably decided it was best to tell me that I broke it so I wouldn't be issued a refund, but a replacement.

They didn't send me any proof of the bent pins as I asked, said it was already out of the warehouse and I know for a fact I did not bend the pins. The sata ports didn't work properly. The "manager" or whatever senior basic level employee was rude too. Also the case window I got from them was scratched, they sent a new one. And the 3tb Seagate hard drive I received was faulty - it turned into a 3.5GB Drive... I got a refund on this thankfully as it was a faulty product and I couldn't get blamed for this easily. I did try everything to fix this, and I ran disk tests to check that it wasn't a partition / format error but clearly a lack of quality control + scan themselves.

They also said that the pickup for the return would be between 9-5. They came at 8:30! In general I had an awful first time experience with Scan and I'm never returning. I chose them over amazon for my build initially since some parts were a tiny bit cheaper + they also delivered everything at once in one huge box. And they offer Sunday Delivery too...Amazon can also deliver together and I should've chosen them instead for my case, mobo, cpu and psu.

Amazon UK > Scan every day.

Fair enough, no point risking it again. Can happen to anybody but as u say if they were a rude to customer then thats a big thing. I only ordered from them once and it was all ok so didnt have to deal with refunds etc.

@Jerakl are u here to spam Mr.Sherlock ?!

I was obviously expecting the answer I got from omenz321 and not your general answer that I knew already myself and anybody reading his post....

The browns are now on amazon! You have to search for ch-9000065-na to find them. The blues are ch-9000064-na. Both say "usually ships in 2 to 5 weeks". Not sure why they don't pop up when you search K70 RGB. Here is the link to the browns http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00N4OBD32/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1411421135&sr=8-1π=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70

I'm guessing they went quick because it's now changed to awaiting eta, was going to buy an 8350 at discount price once the 8370 hit but looks like it didn't get a price drop so might get the k95 instead.

It feels weird because I'm finally getting rid of a keyboard I've had for 13 years

Who did you end up picking? Or will you wait until Overclockers shows it in stock in hope Amazon can do it in the same time? I guess I will wait 1-2 weeks but I really don't feel like waiting longer :/
