Lays

What do you guys think about those thermaltake fans guys?

I will post the other fans I'm looking at too.

i don't know. the orange leds might over power the rig a bit. maybe make it look too orange and the board might not pop as well.

I don't see why, you might as well just paint the rings on your fans orange.

No need to spend 100 bucks on new fans

I want to replace the fans on my h100i GTX, they don't move enough air through my rad to keep up with above 1.4 volts.

I want to get a set that has a bit extra CFM and a tad bit extra pressure for those scenarios, although I may just get a pair of Delta 5200 rpm fans for when I benchmark above 1.4v, and only use them in those scenarios. IDK yet.

I'd also like a bit extra CFM for my intake fans, SP120's move a decent amount of air, but my AF120 definitely moves more, but it also has an annoying buzzing noise at 5 volts which is usually my 24/7 fan speed.

I don't mind spending $100 on new fans, considering I can sell the old fans after I compare them first hand, and sell the old ones to basically cover the expense.

This is the orange color I'll be getting from icemodz, I'm talking to him about how much it'll cost ETC right now.

I also ordered 5x Cougar CF-V12HP fans, and 1 140mm variant as well, those will be here next week Monday-Wednesday.

Found a few reviews of them, they are very good it seems quiet and have a bunch of static pressure and good CFM.

Apparently they compete with E-loops/ gentle typhoons & NF-F12.

Noice dis gon be great!

Also, after seeing 980 TI has been confirmed apparently, I will be saving up and buying a Classified 980 TI probably :D

Haven't decided yet though, but I do need more VRAM for upcoming games, sometimes 1440p gets pretty close to 3GB in the games I play.

Fans showed up! they look awesome and they perform AMAZINGLY.

They don't make any motor noise, even at 100%.  Much more airflow then my SP120 quiet editions, and quieter too!

I'm going to take pictures once icemodz sends me the new cables, or once my 140mm cougar shows up for the exhaust, so everything matches for the most part.

Thanks @Faceman for re-assuring me about the cougar fans, they're wonderful.  It's like the silence and performance of a Gentle Typhoon, with the build quality of an NF-F12!

@Lays

I'm glad you like them, they are incredible aren't they?  So quiet even at full speed, blow tons of air, and of course the build quality is exceptional.  Those Germans know how to engineer stuff!  I don't use them for radiators, but I bet they work great for them too.

Really excited to see the finished build!

Static pressure!!!

(If you're wondering what that weird wire is on top of my radiator it's a temp sensor)

Also Icemodz has been paid for the wires, and they should be here sometime in the next few weeks.

One other thing, not to speak poorly of my sponsor (addon customs) but the LED strips he sold me had a few LED's just randomly burn out and die, it could of been a bad batch or maybe it was something I did. (They died like 8 months ago, I just forgot to mention because I'm dumb xD)

I would ask him for another set, but I feel bad asking him since he's a smaller company. Plus I don't really need another set since I've been using the icemodz strips I had previously.

I went back to using the icemodz strips I got from him awhile back, and those have been going strong for like 8 months now. (and the like 3 months before that)

Those fans'll be in a pull configuration, right?

Also, if you're going to ask for more LEDs, I'd recommend you write a very polite email suggesting he sends more?

They're already in the case, the ones on the GPU are pushing out the top (thru the rad), then the 3 in the front are intaking.

Also as I mentioned before I didn't need another set of LED's since I still had the strips icemodz sold me awhile back

The 140mm version for my exhaust fan shows up soon :D

hey Lays,
Comparing the cougar fans to the nf-f12, which fan performs the best?
I'm considering a change of airflow in my case, and in Denmark the cougars and noctuas cost the same.

I know the noctuas are pretty ugly IMO (i know some who like the color) but i'm interested in the performance of the two, head to head.

hoping to get a little insight from a guy with first hand impressions :)

When in doubt: C4

I was never really impressed with the nff12, it was nice and all but these cougar fans seem quieter.

I saw some benchmarks online and they cool about the same it looks like. So whichever one you think matches your build the best you should get.
