My loop would be more visible in it doe, and I'd get better airflow for the time being until I get my loop money, and I could put my SSD's in the bottom tray and it'd look all fancy

It's really not that good of a case, it would be a notable downgrade from the R4 for sure

In your opinion I guess, but it will suit my build plans much better than the r4.  I'll still have to hack up my r4 to do everything I want, and I still won't be happy with the sidepanel window because it will cover up all my stoof .

 

If there was a way to get a sidepanel for my r4 with a bigger window without having to butcher it, order more acrlyic then end up with a half-assed mess of a sidepanel, I would keep the r4.

No, not in my opinion. The air 540 is basically an NZXT phantom in square form. I wouldn't rest a drink on top because it'd probably crush it

I have a few friends with 540s and they've never had issues at all, I've messed around with one at frys as well and it didn't seem all that Bad either.

You could go R5, for the better watercooling capabilities. Or I've seen people mod the H440 to a yellow color scheme.

Point still stands, I wouldn't be able to see half my components in an r4 or r5 or h440 because of the small window.

I'll figure it out, will need to shop around for a few days maybe to see what I want, although the air 540 does e everything I want while still being super small.

I personally don't like the look of bent acrylic and would go with 90 degree fittings when necessary.

Sorry that looks really tacky IMO...  IF I was going to paint it at all, I'd paint it the same color as my Gray cables in my build.  The yellow just looks tacky and to much imo.

All air 540's look tacky to me, but i have to agree...the yellow looks terrible on the grills like that lol

I ordered an h220 the other day, it should be here today. I also ordered an AF140 quiet edition for like $13 on ebay, it should be here this week too, then I'll paint the ring and use it as my exhaust fan.  I think I will order one more SP 120 QE to use push/pull on my h220, coz why not.

 

 

Should I order some yellow coolant and use the left-over tubing from my 900D build and put yellow coolant in the h220?

Hey everyone, quick update.

 

I got my H220 the other day, the backplate was slightly bent and didn't want to fit correctly though, so I haven't used it yet.

I spent like 12341234 hours trying to get it on, and called swiftech and the guy I talked to mentioned that my motherboard was notorious for having smaller CPU cooler mounting holes than it was supposed to, and mentioned a few other people had the same problem I had.  He said if the backplate was bent even a tiny bit, it wouldn't fit properly due to the holes being BARELY big enough for the "posts" on the backplate.

 

So he helped me order a new backplate + mounting hardware that is for the Apogee block (It's compatible with the H220 he said) and it has a thicker & better built backplate, and a better screw kit as well. He said it should work easier with the new kit.  

 

The new kit should show up today/tomorrow or monday, then I'll post pictures of it all together . 

 

 

 

Second part of the update:

 

Icemodz got back to me, he said he can finally make my cables and apologized for being so busy due to the holiday season.  He sold me the GPU cables I needed (6 & 8 pin), and they should be arriving sometime in the next few weeks. 

Expect pictures for that as well!

 

 

 

I'm getting birthday money soon, so the custom loop will probably start getting ordered soon, unless I find something else I want for my setup, like a second monitor or something.
