6/10, the motherboard isn't great and neither is the video card, should have gone with a 4690k/4770k and imo, removed that sound card. An Asus Z97-A or similiar motherboard has pretty good sound, don't think that the sound card is worth it.

My build:

Purpose: Gaming

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860k

Mobo: MSI A88X G41 PC MATE

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz

GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0

Storage: Sandisk X110 256GB SSD

Case: Thermaltake Versa H23

4/10

*notes

- System is terminal.

- Only reason for a88x is better OC, and you don't seem to have a aftermarket cooler.

- No ram amount given.

- Unbalanced 970 860x combo.

- Eww case.

DX: take your mobo, and cpu and replace them and you'll go up a few points.

never letting scan dictate my choice when buying a gaming PC again

at least I got a 970 that I can use in my next build

And, yes. The case is awful.

7/10, a pretty good budget build (Going by what you have in your signature, Juan.)

My specs:

CPU-i7 4770 (Unoverclockable, so it sits at 3.3 Ghz)

RAM- 12 GB of no name brand RAM that came with a prebuild in a 4x 3 GB configuration. No idea what the clock speeds are.

Motherboard- A piece of junk that came with my Prebuilt XPS 8700, not quite sure what the actual model is.

CPU Cooler- Intel Stock Cooler

GPU- Evga SC GTX 760

Storage- 1 TB HDD

PSU- CX750M

Case- XPS 8700 (Prebuilt case)

OS-Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Audio- Kraken 7.1

Mouse- G700s (Sale was going on, couldn't resist getting it at $50)

Keyboard- Razer Anansi (It's a long story on why I didn't get a mechanical keyboard for the same price as this)

Display- Dell S2440L (Got it as a present, although I feel bad that the relative who paid $250 for it.)

8/10. Because it sounds like it'd get pretty hot in the small case. 9/10 otherwise.

Small case? I don't consider the 540 to be "small" It also has boat loads of air flow... 24c idle(cpu), 33c idle(GPU(remember the fans don't spin under 60c on this card)), 55c Full load on the cpu, 62c full load on the gpu. That's not overly hot.

The Air 540 isn't a small case. It has more cubic feet than a 800D, I'm relatively sure. Just ignore him. :P

The first one is great, but needs a future high-end Nvidia Pascal graffix card for it to truly come into its own. Also could use a storage HDD for backups. I'm guessing you don't install a huge amount of game/music/video media on your main PC, so the 756 GB of SSD storage is enough for you.

Your 2nd PC is interesting in having a dual-core CPU combined with a decent gaming graffix card, and lots of storage. I'm guessing you don't game much on it, though high-performance keyboard and mouse gaming on that big TV screen would be pretty cool.
