PSU yes, I bought that on recommendation of my brother when I didn't really know what I was doing lol. I hate the thing

Case - I got used for £90 with the fans otherwise I would have got the Enthoo Pro lol

SP120s - again used, but I can see where you are coming from :D

SSHD again bought for £65 new which is the same price as a new 2TB HDD here so why not, but again yes they are kind of a waste of money

Completely understand though!

i5 4670k - Z87X-UD3H - EVGA GTX 670 Sig 2 - Samsung 840 Evo 250GB - 8GB Avexir Core White 1600Mhz - Corsair 750D w/ RGB LED Mod & Remote Control - 2x SP120 - 3x Enermax Cluster - 2TB Seagate SSHD - Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 - SuperFlower Leadex Gold 750W

Why? It's a PSU that is budget and does the job

It's got poor internals compared to similarly priced alternatives, the capacitors are poor etc. Here you can get a SuperFlower 550W 80+ Gold for £55, cheaper which has much higher quality caps and better soldering, and also the Seasonic OEM Antec TrueQuiet 550W for £55 also which is also superior

You are just paying for the brand unfortunately with Corsair PSUs :( When they used Seasonic they were great but now I hate them

Congrats jacksfilms

You got yourself a meme

Mind if I use that from time to time?

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

Would get way higher if you didn't have the Pentium, but instead something like an i5 or even 4th gen i3

That's probably the only reason to go for the Pentium and it certainly is smart, but still can't r8 8/8 because of that.

And yeah, my build is preeeetty outdated.

PSU is a bit iffy, could have got some faster RAM but that's not really necessary, but great choice on everything else!

My PC is also my guitar amp, so I need the ASIO driver and in terms of audio quality the D1 kicks the ALC1150 to the ground.

I believe my PSU is a good solid bronze IIRC, I could've got a better one but there's been no problems so far and it has 4 LED modes which I admit swayed me a little during the buying process. Yeah, I could've gotten a faster set but I was more concerned about reliability so I went with the Corsair kit with a lifetime warranty. =D

Pretty cool build.

8/10.

Good CPU, 670 is kinda older now, but still really good.

I can appreciate the SSD, but cant appreciate the SSHD.

Yeah, back in 2013 the only kits with lifetime warranty at £100 I think were Kingston and Corsair, it was a toss up but the Corsair went better with my old motherboard's colour scheme. And the 4 modes go like this; red, blue, white, and off haha.

SSHD was £65 brand new, I know that they are kind of pointless :D but for the same price as a new 2TB HDD over here I couldn't complain

Otherwise I would have got a standard HDD

The 670 provides enough power for my uses right now, plays most games at high that I play and just a bit slower than a 960 so can't complain. Tis a bit old now though yeah

Oh, I guess for 65 GBP it's ok. I just personally wouldn't go for it. I think SSHD's just don't make sense as a product ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And yeah, the 670 is still really good and still is on par with the 960.

My friend switched from his 660 Ti to a 970 and it seems to be a huge step up for him.
