Minecraft more like CPUcraft

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

my specs are on my profile, my drivers are the latest AMD Catalyst drivers, my Java version is 7u45 and my FPS was ~7 lol

Update your java to the latest version, yours is quite old.

What is your CPU and GPU temperatures? they might be thermally throttling.

Why is this game using 100% of my CPU? I can't even use my mouse while it's open I had to restart my computer. I also uninstalled Minecraft in a fit of anger and now I feel like an idiot but that has nothing to do with this. Please help.

CPU: AMD FX-8120 | CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Contac 30 | Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 | Memory: Kingston 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 | Storage: WD 1TB | GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7870 | Case: Thermaltake Chaser MK-I | PSU: Thermaltake Black Widow 850W

Something is REALLY messed up with your PC if you're only getting 7 fps.

Update java and see if that fixes it. That being said, there's no reason that all 8 cores would be pinned at 100%

all 8 cores were fluctuating from 68% at lowest to 100% at highest and my FPS was no higher than 7 the whole time

which Java should i update to? 8? the only reason i don't have 8 is because i can't mod with Java 8 for some reason, but i'll try it and tell you what happens.

also the only mods i was running were Forge, OptiFine, WorldEdit, and GLSL Shaders

i tried this, I can run MC for about a half hour then it starts fucking up and when I end the process my PC just crashes, I dont know why this game is using so much resources that my PC has to shut off.

There is something very, very wrong with your PC. I'd say update to the latest version of Java?

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Try allocating more RAM for Minecraft.

To do this:

1. Open the Launcher (Make sure it's the newer one)

2.n the section "Profile Selection" click on "Edit Profile"

3.Under "Java Settings (Advanced), activate "JVM Arguments" and add into the text area this argument:

-Xmx2048M -Xms2048M

Or if you want more ram, you can use these arguments:

1GB

-Xmx1024M -Xms1024M

2GB

-Xmx2048M -Xms2048M

3GB

-Xmx3072M -Xms3072M

4GB

-Xmx4096M -Xms4096M

5GB

-Xmx5120M -Xms5120M

6GB

-Xmx6144M -Xms6144M

8GB

-Xmx8192M -Xms8192M

Once you're done, save your profile and then run Minecraft.

The reason you were getting 7 fps is because you were using shaders and they were possibly installed wrong.  When I run them (check my specs) I get 25-30 fps

oh i forgot to tell you all this, the map was 4 GIGABYTES IN SIZE. might have been what caused it. anyway it isn't the shaders, i get 60 - 100 FPS with shaders installed
