Me too I've had so many issues. If they'd just really focus on their drivers, they'd be good. 

 

Yeah the performance is fine, it just basically breaks my laptop when new drivers are installed

Yeah the performance is fine, it just basically breaks my laptop when new drivers are installed

If I leave my laptop on, especially after multiple sleep/wakes, the cards will cause flicker on geometry rendered by both cards- just the player models, or objects usually on older games.Sometimes it's fixed by pausing the games, on some games I have to turn crossfire off then back on again. So annoying. 

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Oh I dont get that , never had any major issues, just driver crashes, and sometimes catalyst control centre uninstalls itself

lol it does? Wow that sucks. Guess I'm the opposite. The driver never crashes for me. Plus it seems to play well with he intel drivers.

There's a local Dell store with some Alienwares on display and I remember being kinda amazed by how cool they looked, but that was before I built my own. After having some knowledge I criticized so much of it, like the fact that the case only had 1 intake fan and 1 exhaust fan, a no-name PSU and horrible cable management.

Thanks for the post OP.  I think it's an ingrained fact most of us assumed, but it's always good to see it quantified.  I will say that based on your posted results, the AW products are not so overpriced that they should never be bought.  Some of them look pretty cool after all, and some folks be pretty serious about their aesthetics.  And blowing tons of dough.

i looked this must have been a glitch it cost 600 dollars to go from 6gb of ram to 8gb

The amount of looks I get when I crack my m18x out at lans is immense. The lighting is amazing, pointless, yes but its sexy as hell. And also it reacts in games, for example when playing BF4 its white if you get shot it flashes red, and if you have low health it pulses read and slowly goes white as your health goes up. Even my friends who have seen it a few times always remark on it.

One of my favourite pieces of kit ever. I do not regret spending the money it was.

I like that about my NVIDIA graphics card. I have it set so the LEDs on the GPU react to sound, it's pretty cool especially since I have a windowed case.

still over priced and the y410p is $850
