Frankly, this photo could be better. It's out of focus, underexposed, grainy, and the only thing even slightly going for it is mediocre bokeh. The composition centers it instead of any "rule of thirds" or "Fibonacci" technique. Very uninteresting.

Funny thing is most people are only going to pay attention the motion blur. its also not of something most people see every day.

My Dad has an old film SLR somewhere, I need to remember to bug him about finding it so I can try "the good old days" (the only film cameras I've really used have been the point-and-shoot variety).

I like the composition. Probably because of the resolution, I can’t tell it the edge of the lens is slightly out of focus. Perhaps stopping down by maybe a third stop would ensure the entire subject is in focus, though if it already is, you can disregard this.

Taken on my Canon G7X mkII. 38.6 mm (x2.7 crop), F2.8, 1/2000 and ISO 125. The pop up flash was used at the lowest power setting.

So I bought a disposable Nikon D100 and lens to shoot from within a 5k Colour run.

I fully expected to kill the Nikon.

Nope, still ran fine.

I like it. For some reason the composition with the newspaper in the foreground, non-staged coloring on the body/lens, and the bokeh.. it tells a story like all good photos should.

Old glass, aside from anti-glare coatings, are pretty good.

You will lose some sharpness and clarity with an adaptor, depending on the quality of said adaptor.

EDIT:

Forgot some stuff.

I cut my photography teeth on a Pentax K1000. Loved that old camera. My pics were naff because I had no idea what I was doing, but fond memories of using it.

Something I restored a few years ago, just because I could. Not a Pentax (obviously) but delightful all the same.

its going to be the cheapest all metal adapter

I like the shadows and the choice made to do this in black and white.

I had a ton of fun shooting using a 24-70 and 70-200 F2.8 first gen lenses, just a lot more heavy than my 18-135.

I've got no idea what kind of ground bird this is but I almost missed it walking up the trail till she made lots of noise. there were quite a few chicks with here.

I always liked these freeze frame photos. So much is going on that you have to pause to really understand what's going on.

I do love that prime. I've got on in 50 and in 35mm combined was under 150$

canon sl2 24-70 F2.8; 1/1000 F4 iso 100 at 43mm

had fun with macro on this lens during my backpacking trip

I was wondering about the bokeh on this one. A macro lens isn't in my toolkit but it makes me wonder what it'd look like with a sunlight type of background and those rather distinct shapes? At f/4 it looks like it fit in more detail than I'd expect, even at 43mm. Thanks for sharing.

Here's an early attempt at a "drip" shot without a macro lens and some frozen fingers. A bit odd on composition perhaps?

Should probably at least convert to JPEG before posting. There’s no shame in taking additional time in your photo though. Unless you’ve a solid deadline with money riding on it; no need to rush to upload.

I’m sure someone that does photography for a hobby/profession could tell how I took my shot.  Though it’s a bit like finding out Santa doesn’t exist. 😛

for your photo, I’d definitely look into diffusing the light some. If an external flash is being used, try bouncing if from a large surface, like a piece of paper.

I'm not using a dedicated macro lens just an older canon 24-70 f2.8L it has a decent macro function. it isn't really 43mm cus I'm on APS-C its like a 69mm on FF
