9/10, given what you shot with at which settings it's really awesome. The missing pt is only my personal taste, otherwise great photo!

The photo I post is from a Tech N9ne concert here in Sweden.

I'm not a huge fan of the composition, since the balance does seem a little off with the blank space above the subject. I like the motion you captured with the hand movements though, while the rest of the subject is still in focus. The background itself seems a little plain, although I doubt you could do much about that with the setting.

Here's a shot I took of a Great Western train at Worcester, one of their new ones I believe, slightly edited to make it a bit more dramatic.

7/10 - Love the detail of the engine, albeit a little oversharpened. Composition and CC are also on point however I can't help but notice the blown-out part at the back :PA shallower DOF would also do good in this situation imo.

Here's a pic of the recent Thaipusm event in Malaysia. Taken at sunrise of course xD

9.5/10. Like it a ton. My eyes keep drifting to the one spot above the subject’s head with the 3 blurry lights however.

This one was a nightmare to take, took 4 people and a lot of shots to get rid of the glare manually with sheets. It took roughly 45 minutes to get the pictures needed for the final shot. Turned out well, got featured in the e-one 2019 calendar. Was really proud of this. Enjoyed working with the photographer for it who helped my department and I take this.

That is an awesome shot, so full of detail! 9/10

I took this one yesterday during the Geneva International Motor Show, with a Canon M100 using the 15-45mm Kit Lens and that's it....could of used an ND filter I think to aid with the reflections but oh well...

Very sharp, very clean image, but I'm lacking some interest in the scene. I think if you turned up the contrast a bit, or turned down the blacks, it would make it a bit more interesting. 6/10

So Barett Jackson, one of the largest automotive auctions in the US, was a month or two ago and I brought my camera along with the hopes of bringing out my inner Larry Chen. I really like this first photo because I feel like it captures a lot of car culture in one picture, just people enjoying and sharing their vehicles on a Saturday afternoon.IMG_4326.thumb.jpg.c49a6b9f887a06f61ae9c6b46b39dcdb.jpg

I like this second one because I have a hard on for Ford GTs. There's so much intricacy to the body work, so many cool things to look at, every bit as functional as the last. This is one of my favorite angles on the car.IMG_4213.thumb.jpg.533481640ef8193bb3ff885e7d2561c0.jpg

Love the almost showcase style of the second photo, and the insight and shadow of the grille in the top right, also the 1st photo feels very nostalgic in a way.

Not sure about the crop on the first two but that is just my taste. Focus nailed as is the lighting. Maybe darken that white edge a little in the second, it is certainly my fav of the three shots.

The last one I find my eye wanders to the picture rather than the lovely lady. Great B&W conversion and the eye contact is excellent.

Aha "lovely lady", i have a few other photos very similar to that one, its my gf :D (a year or two ago though) and i love that photo. the blurred blackground helps to draw your eye towards the tern.

9/10, if the person wasnt in the background it would be an easy 10/10, my eyes gets drawn to the headlights then to the logo on the grille, unfortunatley the woman in the back is a touch distracting.

10/10 this is really great you have some great eye right there! I like how you play with the perspective and the lines take you to the end of the studio.

Love that photo. really shows emotion and rawness in a way. 9/10, would be a 10/10 if the girls hair was 100% in focus, pretty much impossible i know. Here's some i took of a mine winding engine (levant in cornwall. hard to take photos when the engine is extremely hot and noisy lol..)

6/10 @yeetbuildermaybe

Great photos don't need great cameras. While a great camera can let you see generic motives in new angles, bad cameras at the right moment with the right motive can make great photos too. Smartphone cameras offer the big plus that you near always carry them with you. And the Galaxys Camera is quite capable too.

I like the bokeh of your picture (the unsharp Background). It would have been nice if you could have stepped a bit to the side because i think your shadow blocked the light from reaching the flower resulting in greater Detail, but it's still a nice picture. The upper Background has lots of lense artifacts in it, i personaly don't like them this edgy, but thats preference.

The yellow above the grey background is a nice contrast.

@Teradore 8/10 great Motive, i like the confined cutting. you could Play a bit with Highlights to make it eben better

the only Thing i would change see the eyes which see quite dark but a tiger must be hard to shoot. even a housecat can be a challenge XD

Here is a Little picture i took with my Nokia 9 - PureView while doing forerstry. While i would have loved to shot the tiny butterfly with my DSLR and my 24mm pancake lens i am quite satisfied with how it turned out. Got to love the possibilities the 3 monochrome and 2 Colour lenses offer one, especially while taking RAW pictures.

And Affinity Photo helps with the little tweaks ;-).

Hey guys!

I thought I'd show the photography section some more love, and maybe try to get it more active.

So I have a little game, I'll start it off. Basically, you're going to rate the person above you's photo, and then post you own to be rated.

Rules:

  • ONLY constructive criticism allowed
  • No retaliation ratings, if someone gives your photo a low score, you are NOT allowed to give them a poor rating to 'get back' at them
  • No OT posts, please stick to the rating-photo posts only, if you see a post that doesn't follow the rules, ignore it and move on
  • Photos can be rated on a 1-10 scale, or can be verbal ratings
  • Photos must be your own
  • Skip OT posts and rate the photos above them
  • Have fun!

It's straight from the camera (infrared) I don't do anything to my pics, WYSIWYG so to speak, but I"m still getting a handle on how this camera is different than my other IR camera the Canon 10D.

7/10. Objectively good, nothing that stands out as bad, though seemingly kind of plain I feel.

Here's hoping that I'm at least a little good. Though there are some truly fantastic shots here, so it seems hardly a fair comparison. ?

That is the wrong man holding a Rickenbacker bass. Only Lemmy may use one ;)

I used to do concert photography and it can be quite the challenge. Next time, try to get the bass/guitar head in the shot, but good use of DoF otherwise
