LTT Forums CPU Overclocking Database!

Value set in BIOS :)

bit i have set something like 1.2v in bios and cpu=z reads 1.2v . i have vdroop disabled so i dont know why cpuz always reports a bit lower voltage than the value set in bios

Software voltage readings should always be take with a grain of salt. They are never 100% accurate ;)

also the voltage set in bios is diffrent to the voltage reading in bios

Tomorrow I'm overclocking my E8400, air stock cooled (actual FULL Temp: 42 ºC)

Should I Upload when done?

(Asking because this CPU is a bit old)

Always happy to get more entries into the DB :)

And as I said, don't expect a lot, just ocing with stock heatsink (no oc = 40 ºC full, it's to gud to be stock)

Just to give an idea; original clocks and more took with CPU-z HERE

Crap, da paste will be in the shop on Tuesday. Anyway, stock heatsink avec old thermal stock crap at 3.2 GHz... MX-4 would rock it...

I have no problem with you throwing in 2 entries if you want, the one you have set now and the one with the new thermal paste (if there's a decent distance in clock speed, voltage, etc).

I posted mine, but slight catch. I have screenshots of my P95 and my AIDA64 each for  10 horus and 7 hours, respectfully. But I don't have task manager or an active CPUz because when running AIDA my computer is too sluggish to record a screen shot. I hope this works, if not I can resubmit tomorrow with exactly as you want.

I have the same chip OCed to 3.41Ghz on stock voltage.

I thought I already did, how do I submit ?

Can you update my post in the database?

Here is a new picture...

I'll update it for you!

This thread exploded with posts today :P

@Kilobytez95 being the temperature and voltage differ, I'll keep it as a separate entry :) (being you submitted it also :P)

Yeah, ik, did it but the thermal paste i'm using obviously isn't cooling a lot... Anyway, i'm thinking about doing a little 10 € upgrade: Artic Cooling Alpine 11. Hope this cheap budget will get a bit more oc with da MX-4 I'm waiting to arrive to the shop... on Tuesday -.- (silly spanish shopkeepers...)

Ahem... Do you think that heatsink would do something? (if it's a little, i keep buying it, basicly less noise)

PS: I could buy Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO, but i don't think it will fit into my case...

I honestly don't think the Alpine 11 will improve thermals much if at all, might reduce noise however.

My E8400 is overclocked on the stock cooler.

This is my OC, after running Prime95 (blend) for 20 minutes: http://i.imgur.com/LxuSxiw.jpg?1

Since my room gets to be around 20C during the fall/winter times, the maximum temperature of 58C looks a bit low. On a regular 25C day, it maxes out at AMD's retail thermal limit of 62C after testing it for more than 30 minutes on a more typical 25C ambient temperature.

Well my Vrams cant handle it at high OC for very long, wish there was a sabertooth water block, I don't want to ghetto rid one.
