I know this question has probably been asked before, but I wanted to ask for myself.

I am again looking to upgrade my cpu cooling solution. This time I'm focused only on this. (Last time I ended up buying a gpu instead.) So the question is which cooler will work better/ more efficiently on a phenom (exact spec in sig). The environment has an ambient temp range of 20-26c, open air (no case atm), and will be paired with an NF-F12 (push config). Also, assume both coolers have the same current price point (see pic below). (Lastly, how effective are vertical vapor chambers when the cooler is mounted sideways in a case?)

I would normally assume that because the 612 is more expensive that it would automatically be better, but I'm not familiar with it at all. Whereas, everyone knows about the 212 Evo. That's the root of my curiosity.

Thanks for your input.

Yea I think I'll keep it simple and get the 212. I also saw that the TPC's mount vertically on AMD sockets, so I think that's a turn off.

Thanks for the input to everyone who replied. Topic closed.
