I wrote a poem about Gaben making Valve/Steam

So yeah, got bored earlier and decided that after all the drivel I've read in the off topic section I better write some drivel of my own.

 

Haters gonna hate I don't care, just prepare yourselves for a joke and don't take it seriously it's just for the lols.

 

A notion grasps me, I'm better than them

Those peasants and children, those flowerpot men

What shall I do then, some money I'll spend

To bring some good gaming to all the good men

 

A company forms, and a foothold it takes

So long Mr Gates, I've made my own place

Half Life doth we create,

currency doth we generate

Goldsource be'eth our mine,

 crowbars breaketh our crates

 

A platform called Steam, as I saw in my dream

Shall come to fruition, assemble the team

Try'est they might to fuss 'n they fight,

without the client there's no Counter Strike

The brethren relented and to my delight,

adoption skyrocketed but all in one night

 

I hear a soft whirling close by in the wood

A Noctua fan cools just like it should

With silence and grace, your heat dissipates

Far from your heatsinks and out of your case

 

The soft glow of backlight enters the night

I cannot draw back now I cannot take flight

Swivel chair stands empty I'll sit if I might

Be seated my child you're gaming tonight

 

Store of all things both anew and of old

Library of things that were cheap and got sold

Workshop of mods and where we are told

Screenshots and Groups and Reviews of gold

 

I install and then play, Oh look we're away

Visuals are sharp, smooth too I must say

1080 all day now I'm sure there's no way

I can leave this behind and for-get this day

 

Move onward 10 years, now Valve turns the gears

To my masterful peers, I rend you three cheers

I hope through all this you haven't yet lost me,

for the time to write it was worth it yet costly

Game on my friends, and give me your dollars

lest the jimmies rustle softly beneath your collars

PS: I much prefer poems that rhyme every other line.

the cat meows

the chicken clucks

but the pigeon coos"

 

Everytime i look at that i laugh because its so bad a hilarious at the same time lol
