How much do you care about the sound level of your pc?

Mao_Zedong

Personally i would put myself at 7 on this, I don't hear it much if I don't pay attention, and I normally wear headphones anyways. On my laptop I care more, but my laptop is for different uses.

I usually dont wear headphones so having a quieter PC is more important to me.

Sound so long as not excessive is fine in most circumstances.

Where it annoys me is when I'm trying to read something that I need to concentrate on, and when I'm reading a book in my PC chair I turn off my PC.

if u bother about it that much then just buy a noise canceling gaming headset, i would be cheaper then worlds best and quietest fans or watercooling.

I don't really notice it when im at my computer. 200mm fans are pretty nice that way

A moderately high amount. Why should it be loud if it doesn't have to?

What if you don't wear headphones every time your around your PC. Also it doesn't cut everything out and it alters your sound to do it.

That kinda like "I can't see it so its not there when your hands are over your eyes"

Personally I can't stand if my PC makes any noise whatsoever, I run my Gentle Typhoons at 600 RPM, and leave my pump at the lowest setting.  The only thing left that makes noise is my HDD, but when I change around my PC, that'll be getting replaced by another SSD.

I wear have open headphones and sometimes I don't listen to my games/music very loud, and my PC also stays on 24/7 to run my ts3 server for LTT, so if it makes any noise at all, even in the dead of night, it drives me nuts.

Or if you have open headphones, such as I do, the littlest noises are still audible If you're not blasting music or game sounds. Occasionally I use my speakers for things too, and other people's rooms are near mine so I can't just blast tunes.

I'm around a 3 or 4. As of late, when building PCs for friends, family, or co workers, I usually opt for an AIO watercooler if they can't afford a custom setup (which is entirely understandable).

I always use positive air pressure if possible, optimizing flow, and I always end up installing sound dampening foam on side panels and front 5.25" bays that are unused.

For my own personal rig I practice the same setup. Silence is key, as I do some A/V recording as a hobby.

I'm around 4 and 5. I love hearing fans "wooshing" in the background but I don't like getting disturbed by ticking noice of hard drives or buzzing from speakers, because that will anoy me for a bit. If it gets too annoying for me to focus on my work, I will grab my earbuds and they will cancel out most of the background noice. ;)

Well, considering that my PC sounds like a Jetta TDI, I love quiet computers.

I'm a 2 or 3.

@ I fall into none of your options I would fall both under 2 and 5 as in I demand(ergo 2) my pc to make moderate noise(ergo 5) but I don't try to coverit up with headphones or things of the sort usually because I find white noise very calming relaxing and helps me concentrate as long as it's not so loud to make me angery or set off some sort of OCD ish reaction yet not quiet enough to allow my brain to get paranoid and give me areason to stare at a blank wall.

Long as it is totally silent at idle i am happy, and if it does not sound like jet engine on load then i am even more happier. :)

In the summer, i don't care how loud it is. My box fans are louder. Period.

In the winter, I care more, though some noise doesn't bother me too much, my nVidia 660Ti blower is obnoxious with its whine.

I voted 3 but that's only when idle or web browsing (I often get worried when I can hear my hard drive doing stuff lol), when i'm in an extremely intensive game I don't mind a little bit of noise

I'm a 5 for the most part but sometimes I just don't feel like wearing headphones cause I'm just web browsing or reading then I'm more like a 3.

I'm so used to loud computers all my life that after building my own with okay fans it's a huge difference and rarely bothers me. It's the damn coil whine from my PSU that annoys the hell out of me. I'd rather take loud fans than high pitched whines.

There's really nothing I can do about my sound level until I can get a H440. My current case is utterly horrific and has a great big open mesh panel on the side. Not to mention this.. Airflow from this fan is basically non existent; just unneeded noise.

(Also, how do I resize images on here?)
