Headphones.

Tea1337

I got $150 from doing a bit of work, and I need to get rid of my Turtle Beach PX22's, they're great for my console, but I need something that sounds great, not okay-ish. So I have been looking at Sennheiser headphones, specifically the HD558's. I like the HD 598's but to me it's not work the extra $60. $150 is just for the headphones, I already have an Aune T1, that was a hand-me-down Dac that I got for $20 from a family member.

I am open to any suggestions headphone wise, I prefer the brands like Sennheiser, Beredynamic, AKG's and amazing headphones like that.

you can't really be wrong with sennheiser, (said the sennheiser fanboy :P)

i think the 598 is worth it, but if you have the chance to go to a store and test a few headhpones it allways is better to buy after you test for obvious reasons!

as for akg, i've been wanting to test them , but i haven't gotten arround to it, i know there are a few akg fanboys aggressively promoting akg on the forum, so they'll be coming arround soon saying akg is better :P

Too much, cost's $230 here.

It's $200 on Amazon in the US, but I've seen it at $150 before.

There is an audio store in lasvegas that i'm going to next weekend, that's when i'll be buying them. and because of the high tax it's around 230$, $80 over budget

Sweet, an Aune T1! I've got one too and I think it's pretty nice. One thing to note though, is that the T1's output impedance is 10 ohms, so you're going to want at least an 80 ohm headphone to pair with that. For more info http://nwavguy.blogspot.com.au/2011/02/headphone-amp-impedance.html

You should take a look at the used and trade forum on Head-Fi- great audiophile community.

I disagree,
