if you are getting an i7 why a cheap board? what are you using it for?

Chances he is relying on the fact that he will win the I7 giveaway which is the 4970K. You could buy an ASRock motherboard.

He should get a nice z-97 of some sort then and a good cooler at least. if it's the devils canyon that Linus and slick OC'd it deserves to be pushed. or he could sell it for an unlocked i5. My two cents :)
