Can I use my External Drive as a Internal?

There's no real reason not to run it via USB if you want to, other than the fact that it'll be quite slow. As others said, if you can take the enclosure apart easily, inside you'll find a regular harddrive that you can use like any other SATA drive. The picture you've provided suggest you may not even have to do that. If your SATA data and power connectors are thin enough they should just fit with that USB-to-SATA bridge removed. And it'll work just fine if you have a place to mount it.
