2nd monitor won't work with adapter

hey, 

 

my primary monitor is the Asus VE247 which is connected to my GTX 770 my secondary monitor is the HP LE2201w which only has vga so i connected it to my GPU through a vga to hdmi adapter. unfortunately it won't work: at first it says check monitor cable (which i did) and then goes to sleep. anyone knows how to fix this?

VGA is analog. HDMI is digital. You can't really convert between the two with a passive adapter...

Use a dvi to vga adapter with your gpu.

As I said before, VGA -> DVI Adapter -> GTX770
