5db is the noise of x *1.5. A GPU that makes 50db of noise is twice as loud as one that makes 40db of noise.

40 db is the around the sound of a quiet residential street.

These numbers are on synthetic benchmarks. Pushing the CPU to the absolute max. I for one have never pushed it that hard using applications.

Both are great coolers. It really comes down to personal preference.

I prefer the look of the cryorig. It is really quiet and performs very well.

according to @worldwin I will notice a difference at 5db, whats your opinion

I doubt you will push your CPU to 100% (depending on what programs you use). I fo 3D modeling and dont push my CPU that hard. These sound tests calculate the sound level at 100% load for the highest sound level.

I find sound test subjective because some reviewers do it on an open test bed or a closed case. And then there is the distance. It is very hard to make a great test for sound levels.

At the end of the day it is really up to you to decide which caterogies are priority. Either it's performance, silent operation, or looks.

I find the cryorig a great combination.

EDIT: Plus I forgot to mention the great 6 year warranty.

Dark Rock Pro 3:

-Cheaper

-Quieter

-Doesn't look like recycled soda cans and tupperware

Noctua nh-D15:

-Performs slightly better

Winning in 3/4 categories is just a walkover to me.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

tbh seems like there are tons fanboys of noctua..  I do know they are  GOOD and ugly xD, but are a bit overated when it comes $ per performance.. let's face it, is true.. Where I live prices are like this at this very moment:

4.SilverArrow IB-E Extreme = $ 102,44

 5. Corsair Hydro H100i           = 135,93

cryorig and the silverarrow have the best value according to those prices
