rog laptop says not networks found

i just got the republic of gamers' g750jw and when i try to connect to wifi, it says no networks found. but my phone at ipad are connected. what's going on?

Move closer to the source and see if it connects. Update driver if necessary.

Is there a  wireless adaptor switch on the laptop. Is it on? Have really good look, last Asus laptop I had, it was pretty well hidden.

there isnt one. the wireless light on the bottom of the laptop is on though
