Please answer, I think updating the bios will solve the problem, I just don't know how.

Do I have to have windows installed to install the new bios?

I have the F13p BIOS on a thumb drive, but I can't figure out how to update it.

Hopefully that is going to work. I am going to try it out with my brothers 7870 tomorrow.

well after reading your reply to my suggestion i can tell you that your pc has booted successfully. when you got the white flashing cursor at the top left of the screen.

this happens when no valid hdd/ssd is found after post. if you had of had a valid drive in the system should have booted.

as for updating the bios. its only recommended if it addresses your problem directly. look on the gigabyte site and see if the bios says it fixes compatibility issues with new gfx cards.
